I am just getting too anxious and depressed lately after drinking. Plus, I feel like life slows down a lot when I don't drink. I love the buzz/high at night, but it seems worth it less and less.

Once they legalized pot here in CA i all but stopped boozing. Maybe once a month or two I’ll get drunk but every time I do I instantly regret it. As someone who drank everyday for a couple of decades I can honestly say that alcohol is WAY worse than pot. Anybody that says otherwise is a damn fool.

I quit drinking when I discovered cannabis years ago.

Its definitely stronger than pot. The fact that it is more socially acceptable than pot is beyond me.

I’ve said for years that alcohol is a shitty drug. It’s just socially acceptable and easy to get.

That’s cool man. I just find it to be overrated. Maybe i just don’t find the buzz to be all that great.

Jokes and shite. Just kidding.

I get your point, even if I'm not quite there yet.

I’m really tired of drinking.

Last night had to take some guys to dinner.
Had 4 IPAs before dinner an old fashion and glass wine with meal.
I’ve felt like shite all day.
Don’t sleep well when I drink and I end up smoking at some point.

Really been thinking hard about giving it up.
Hard though, every person I know drinks to some degree. Everything I do socially besides church involves alcohol.
Need to me wolf I suppose.

I’m almost 40 (wth) and I’m beginning to feel like that too. I did dry January and it was easy. One or two years ago there was no way I would have made it a week.

I drink 1 Jack and water unless I’m cooking then I drink 2. That’s about it, occasionally I’ll do an Old Fashion with Maker’s Mark. Some nights though I don’t drink at all

Who rates alcohol?

Alcohol, in and of itself, makes no sense.

A lovely wine or beer, maybe the odd cocktail of sublime spirits. Not overrated.

I quit drinking in 2015 at age 39 for health reasons and haven't looked back. I can honestly say I don't miss it. I'm currently healthier than I've ever been. If you don't enjoy it, don't do it, it's as simple as that. When I'm in social situations where everyone is drinking I just order a diet coke and don't worry about it. You'll feel so much better and probably extend your life expectancy by a few years...

Quitting all alcohol intake certainly won't harm you and would probably help you.

Been drinking less lately as well. Was big into craft beer probably 5 years ago but kind of done with beer. Pretty much just drink red wine when drinking at home to pair with food or i like to have a cocktail out at dinner. The alcohol buzz just doesn’t do it for me like it used to.

See this is so strange to me. Alcohol doesnt feel nearly as good as just about any other drug and the hangovers are worse than the immediate side effects of most other drugs. Alcohol is what I do when I have nothing better.
