I’ve come to really enjoy good wine. I can drink a bottle, and I don’t feel full at all. The wine hangovers are miserable though

upgrade to higher quality alcohol. I've noticed my hangovers have almost disappeared since switching to Patron shots
Debatable

Getting wasted is overrated, but a good bottle of wine or a nice glass of whiskey isn't.

Same here; 10-20 years ago, I used to drink beer 2 or 3 days a week, maybe a total of 14 beers a week average. I now drink about 6 beers a month average. Basically for the same reasons you stated above.

I'm almost 40 and got good and drunk recently, for the first time in a few years.
I was in a bad mood all the next day, and I think I'm done with getting that drunk.

Not even that, patron is garbage.

Agree. There isn't an alcohol that I would fret not being able to drink again. I can't say the same for some of my favorite foods.

Yes sometimes. No sometimes.
Obviously the world would be better off health/safety wise without it.
But I find that I actually get a little dopamine kick thinking about a beer after a physically grueling day of work or play. I can't trick my brain into doing that with any other beverage. But more than a couple and it's rapidly diminishing returns.

OK, bad example, but much better than the high sugar content of Fireball

It is overrated. I don't drink at all. Nothing good comes from it

This thread is made me crack my first beer of the day

I like to drink beer. Alot. I also hate that it makes you feel like crap day after. What to do?
There is a major movement towards craft non-alcoholic beer for people that love the taste of beer, don't want soda and are bored with flavored water that has enough chemicals in it to kill an elephant.
I have been buying NA beer online from Athletic Brewing Company. Most of the stuff is about 50-60 calories a can a tastes pretty damn good without the hangover. Check it out. Yea, it isn't cheap..it costs more to make than regular beer cause you have to remove the alcohol. Anyway, its good stuff if you wanna have a 'beer' and not feel like shite : )

I won't lie and say I hate it but it's not worth the trade off to me. I don't think there's anything wrong with a couple beers or drinks, though, for people that can limit themselves to that.

As you get older you have to mix it with other things like cocaine

IMO it is absolutely the inferior drug when compared with marijuana, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy it. I love it all. I love beer of every kind, I love scotch, I love bourbon, I love gin, I love wine. I drink more wine than anything now but that may be 2 bottles a week including the weekends. I rarely drink alone now and it's mainly in socializing. Moderation is the key with alcohol as well as monitoring successive days in a row. This football season was by far the least I've ever drank and I was pretty stoned throughout the entire thing....which was nice. There's never any recovery from it, workouts and runs the next day after a night of smoking rather than boozing are fantastic, and the overall lack of hangovers make life more enjoyable.
