I once had a very strong feeling I was going to win the lottery. Didn't get a single matching number though

This is so strange. A few weeks back, I had a win the lottery dream and went straight to check the next morning and two of the numbers matched a ticket I had purchased five years earlier.

This is absolute proof that dreams and premonitions can be real, just not always accurate using the limited constricts of our measurement of time and reality.

yep. a really good friend of mine had a twin brother who committed suicide. he seemed fine; we hung out a bit and even went to a couple of class reunions.

then several years later (he lived in another state) he asked if i was going to be in louisiana for christmas and i was a single dad at the time with 2 kids and couldn't get away.

about 2 weeks later i woke up in a cold sweat *KNOWING* he had committed suicide. I 100% knew it.

i felt like a complete and utter failure as a friend for not picking up on what he was actually saying but it had been about 8-10 years since his brother had committed suicide and i let my guard down. i was really worried about him at first but he let on like everything was fine.

called around and found out he had killed himself and it messed me up for awhile. i wanted to kick myself for being such a dense a-hole that i didn't pick up on the signals.

eta i should add he was a VERY successful accountant; had his own business where he would personally come in and 'fix' problems for F500 companies when they were being audited and he easily cleared 400k/yr working part time.

i never saw it coming.

eta this happened about 12 years ago and being the pathetic loser that i am pretty sure i posted the story on here as well back then.

No, but my MIL has made some comments about scenarios in a handful of her dreams that did not seem worth noting and then……………bam, it happens.

The mind is amazing at picking up miniscule bits of information and plugging them in to a "feeling". Many studies have been done on the phenomenon. It is called "subconscious perception".

Earlier this spring, I awakened about 2am and could not go back to sleep. This isn't a problem most nights.
The next day I decided to check on some friends who were living in the UK. She had just died suddenly and when I couldn't sleep, her husband and son were getting ready for her burial which was on line and which I was able to watch the next day.

I told this to a friend who is Jewish and she just said "she was saying her last good byes".

Every time I get deja vu I anticipate something bad about to happen but I can’t tell what it is.

Must be a glitch in the simulation where I got killed and was respawned in order to keep living.

I had a dream my father died, and ran to him ugly crying when I was nine. He held me and told me he was fine. He killed himself the next day.

I vividly remember the conversation I had with that morning, and him waiting with me on the front porch for the bus to come.

I had a premonition/dream that my dad was killed by a drunk driver. Woke up and drove to his place because he wasn’t answering and had lunch with him.

A drunk driver killed him 4 days later as he was coming home from work

I sat straight up in bed last night, eyes popped open, sweating, having a premonition that LSU baseball will win the College World Series this year, Crews will hit .750 for the series with 7 HR's, White will drive in 20 runs, and Skenes will have a 0.00 ERA.

Zero doubts. The feeling was skrong.

Only once. My aunt was dying, it was just a matter of time. I was driving home from work, and I had this feeling like I knew she had just passed. It was such a strong feeling, I was trying to keep from having a breakdown in traffic. So I took a few deep breaths and turned my phone on silent and tucked it between the seats so I couldn't see it (didn't have a fancy car then). I knew if I saw my mom calling me, I wouldn't be able to hold it together to get home safely. I kept it together and got home. When I pulled out my phone, I had 9 missed calls and a bunch of texts. I think she just wanted to make sure I was safe at home before I cried.

i was dating my now wife (no pics) and had a dream she was with someone else. i hadn't been treating her well, mainly just being selfish. i woke up the next morning, went to my classes, then asked her to meet me at a coffee shop. i told her of my dream and that i was going to be better. she started crying and told me she was going to break it off during our meeting but decided not to after hearing me out. Just made 11 years happily married a few days ago.

Hate to break it to you but your wife was getting piped up by Jody and Chad.

The wife was awake last night, sometime after midnight, reading while I was asleep in the bed beside her. She said I suddenly sat up and said, "We need to go to Sam's for toilet paper, but they are closed now." Then I lay back down. I was obviously asleep and she didn't have the heart to wake me up. This morning, I had no memory of doing anything or that we were nearly out of toilet paper. When she told me what I had done, I went and checked. Sure enough, we had one roll left in the house. Went to Sam's this afternoon and disaster was adverted.

Yes, I do weird stuff all the time.

I’m sure she isn’t fricking other dudes now that you’re married, unlike when you were dating.

I was driving a road next to corney lake early one morning and saw a huge pine tree laying across the road. I put on the brakes and there was no tree there. It happened twice more, exactly the same way and each time I did not think about it prior to getting there. My fourth trip ( this is where I deer hunt)I’m aware I’m approaching the area. I see the exact same tree again but convince myself I’m imagining it. Then I see a bunch of lights and yellow stripes running. I slam on the brakes and end up sideways almost against the tree. I’ve never been cussed so much . I reversed and left. Didn’t figure they’d want to hear that story. Never figured that crap out.
