This is why you have to tell kids, boys and girls, from an early age, that there are people out there like this. Don't mince words. "There are people in the world who want to have sex with you. It's called rape." PERIOD. If I have a kid, he/she isn't going to trust anyone they talk to online. Assume everyone is the enemy until they prove otherwise.

We can't coddle kids anymore. The world is ugly and these predators are a click away. Educate them young so they know what to be aware of and how to avoid it.

You are correct. I have studied predators in missing girls’ cases. They repeat offend, and their crimes get worse and worse. Brandon Scott Laverne is a perfect example. Started with being forceful with girls then going after a cousin in a hotel room then sneaking in Windows while girls were sleeping. He served time after one of the “sneak in sexual assaults”. He was let out of course. Then went on to locking Lisa pate up in a hotel room then killing her by strangulation after catching her trying to escape. then he hit Mickey shunick while she was riding her bike and kidnapped then killed her. Finally we locked him up for good. If he would have been dealt with appropriately after breaking into a girls house while she was sleeping and raping her, Lisa and Mickey would still be alive and well today.

Case after case after case follow similar patterns. They start young and keep getting let back out into society until their crimes escalate to murder. It shouldn’t be this way. These people need to be castrated - chemically or physically. It would save lives and it would cost taxpayers less.

And I’m not talking about he said she said situations. I’m talking about predators who hunt down victims, victims who have absolute proof.

Yep. I have a 12 year old, and i can’t be delicate with words anymore. She has to know what kind of evil exists out there. It infuriates me that we have to burden children with such worries. At 12 i still thought babies came from getting a baby shot in your arm. My only worry was whether or not the 711 had white cherry icees or strawberry.

And it’s not as easy as people think for parents to police internet activity.

Long read below but legit info for those who care.

I told this story on here once before but it bears repeating. Many years ago I worked with a guy who was one of the founders of the FBI Behavioral Sciences Unit. Not an agent. He was a Psychiatrist with a slew of degrees the length of your arm. He was somewhat famous in the community for being the guy who designed their hostage negotiation program. Anyway, he was an academic through and through and pretty damn liberal. He really believed in rehabilitation and not long prison sentences alot like Europeans do. Pretty strange for a guy who worked with federal law enforcement.

Long story short, we were all having a beer and the subject of child predators / pedophiles came up. People at the table were making comments and Dr. Tom just flat stated: "We should kill them all the second they are convicted. It doesn't matter why they do it and we shouldn't waste time trying to figure it out." Not an unusual sentiment but coming from him this was a mic drop moment. We asked him why he believed this and he explained that in the US sex crimes against children are quite literally the ultimate taboo. This is not the case in other parts of the world but it is here in the US. In our society, he explained, if you cross that line you have made a conscious decision to break the ultimate rule and there is no going back. He said that these people will 100% reoffend if given the opportunity and that with no chance of rehabilitation we should exterminate them for the good of the remainder of the population. His belief is that the reason for the decision to cross that line can be any number of things so there is no point in determining each individuals motivation. Just remove them and move on.

I may have disagreed with this guy on other things but he made an informed and cogent argument that I can't help but support on this subject.
