Generally I can slow my breathing down to where I’m basically holding my breath and I think the buildup of CO2 makes them go away but tonight I just can’t get these things to go away. And even when they stop they start right back up 15 min later. Short of hanging myself is there any tips y’all have in getting rid of them?

What did you have for dinner last night?

Seriously, taking the time to think tricks the brain and often works

Doesn’t have to be a finger. Can be anything really.

Try your best to hiccup 15 times in one minute. Time it and set a reward for yourself if you achieve it.

Drink a glass of water and bite down on the rim of the glass while doing it. I get hiccups all the time. It gets rid of them instantly.

Chugging a glass of water upside down while bent over at the waist always does the trick for me.

hiccups are caused by spasms. So relax. Relax your throat 'that's what he said' your diaphragm, etc. just breathe very slowly and relax your airway.

might take a few minutes and 1-2 hiccups might squeeze through but works every time.

If I am drunk and get the hiccups. The only way I can get rid of them is vomiting… don’t know the science but it works for me.

Hold your breath, and while doing so, swallow three times.
