, you're supposed to heat up the nut, not the bolt. The nut will expand faster than the bolt and help it break free.

Small pipe wrench might do the trick.

Get a wax candle, heat up the nut/bolt enough to melt the wax on it. The wax will work its way into the threads, and it will come right off.

Yeah, just a standard lawn mower blade. Hard to get leverage with the deck in the way.

Is it a reverse thread bolt?

You might be turning it in the wrong direction. Look in your owners manual and make sure.

Push mower or riding mower?

Replacing blades or going to sharpen?

I thought the same. The bolt should tighten on the same direction the blade turns. Loosen the opposite.

Don't listen to any of these knuckle heads telling you to put a,cheater bar on that bolt. You will twist the head of the bolt off.

If he only heated the head of the bolt that is what would happen.

Impact wrench and socket will likely do it

Socket and a long breaker bar or an impact if you have one. If you can get the box end of a wrench on it, you can double wrench it or if you have a piece of pipe with a big enough ID, use it as a cheater.

Lawn mower blade.
Man I thought this was difficult until trying to restore my 76's Bronco in 2014

There wasn't a bolt, a nut or anything that wasn't fricked shut. So good luck on your lawn mower

Did the radiator a few months ago and everything fell apart when we were doing it

50/50 solution of acetone and auto transmission fluid. Best penetrating oil. Spray and let sit for a few hours. You can add some heat and it should break loose.
