Honestly, moving from BR to Houston is probably the best thing they've ever done. Baton Rouge is literally in the top 5 worst somewhat major cities in America.

Anyone moving to Houston because they're tired of flooding is lying about why they're moving to Houston.

I bet they're still happy with their decision.

Houston flooding > BR flooding

I took a job in Biloxi in November of 2006 and stayed for six months. The destruction and trauma those people had faced was difficult to deal with so I tried to get a job in Dallas but was convinced to go to Houston. I lived right in the path that Ike followed. After two weeks of struggle life returned to a form of normal. I moved away from the coast two months later.
When I left for Biloxi a relative living on Bolivar purchased my house because he was fearful a storm would take everything he owned. Ike flattened his former home. I thought he was being dumb when he made his choice but two years later he was proven right.

Had your friends never heard of Houston before?

Is Houston even flooding yet?
Nope. There's been enough breaks in the rain for the water to drain.

Be a bad move Houston has more flooding problems than br

Houston under 5 feet of water is still better than Baton Rouge.

I moved from Houston to the DFW suburbs to get away from Houston then had two hail storms in three months which destroyed 40,000 homes in our area.

I would imagine the BR flood wasn't the only reason they moved to Houston.

Flooding might be the 6th worse problem in Baton Rouge.
With that said, is there anywhere on the Earth one can move to avoid natural disasters?

No major natural disasters in Scottsdale. Except maybe dust storms and haboobs during monsoon season. But those don't cause that much damage.
