Yes all the time.
Now I get to throw pass patterns which is much more fun.
Just hooked the boat up and we are going on a dad and kids crappie fishing trip tomorrow.
Being a parent becomes more fun every year.
Then they leave which the thought of puts a lump in my throat.
Someone on the rant recently said
Parenthood, the days are long but the years are short. Enjoy the days.
Words to live by

We do puzzles. Basically me doing their peppa pig puzzles while they watch. We color too.

Those real men I grew up around were such shitty dads. They worked their shifts and stressful shitty jobs. Came home and had a few beers while watching tv waiting on the wife to serve their meals.Pretty much ignored their kids other than some pitch and catch every now and then and to yell at them a bunch. Real men!
So damn glad I'm a much better dad than that.

I like to color and draw with my youngest. I don't have much imagination so I usually end up drawing a farting stick man but it always gets a laugh.

Certainly. I’ve played barbies with her. I usually end up making a scene up where Barbie runs over Ken and her friend with her babie Jeep. She caught them cheating on her.
I also let her play beauty shop by letting her wet my hair and act like she’s cutting it.

Whatever it takes to spend time with them. This afternoon I played catcher while my oldest daughter practiced pitching. Then went to early dinner with her, my oldest son and his new gf(first real gf) and talked about his college plans (scored 31 on his ACT and graduates in May). Came home and read a couple of books to my youngest boy and ended with my youngest daughter painting the fingernails on one hand LSU purple and sparkly pink on the other hand.

I've always thought this cliche' pretty much sums it up: (paraphrasing perhaps) "No matter how cool or gangsta you think you are, if a child hands you their toy phone, you answer it that shite."

Was coloring with the 8 yr old over Christmas. I forgot how fricking bad I was at it. I suck at staying in the lines and keeping a pattern. There's a metaphor in there somewhere.

My oldest is now 5, and he's a way better color-er than I ever was. When I try to color with him he always starts critiquing my style, the little jerk. Then we build legos together, and my castle dwarfs his and his forces never make it past the portcullis. WHO'S THE MASTER NOW SON!
Then my 3 year old breaks both castles and they go play in the rocks. Good times.
