I'm an old school Mustang guy.
I was around 9 or 10 maybe (early 70s), at the neighbors house when a girl from about a mile down the street pulls up in her shiny green late 60's Mustang. She smiled at me, I still remember thinking how pretty she was and how awesome that car looked.
Been a sucker for Mustangs and skinny girls in jeans and cowboy boots ever since.
Not the same girl (car is close to my recollection) but hope it meets the approval of the inevitable pic request.

I'm on my third Mustang now, a 2015. Thing is, if you stick with the base coupe and a stick shift it's actually very affordable and still has plenty of engine. I paid under $23K for mine brand-new and very much enjoy driving it.
Of course, anyone who drives a Mustang with automatic transmission should be shot and left on the side of the road as a warning to others.
And yes, if you add lots of options, make it a GT convertible with stupid stripes and tint, it ain't cheap anymore. It amazes me how dumb some people are to actually pay that much so they can get a special "Ford Mustang" lighting scheme that is just advertising for Ford. My salesman was noticeably disappointed that I insisted on the base model and didn't want any extras.

That's not a Mustang, OP. That's a Shelby GT350, and it is one bad arse car.
