Yes I was to be married April 3rd or tomorrow in Nola. Shite was cancelled for obvious reasons. Bachelor trip to Vegas was cancelled as was my honeymoon. The latter two is the worst for me as a male. That being said suck it up butternuts, shot happens, life moves on, etc. etc.

Supposedly.
If that's true, prisons are about to get fricked. Still feel like any day now that's gonna come to light somewhere.

We moved my wedding. What a pain in the arse. At least we’ll have a decent story.

Have a friend that was supposed to get married this past Saturday. Reception venue refused to return $8k deposit a few weeks ago and is still holding it. Any ideas how they should go about getting the deposit back short of going to the closed down court system.

Daughter’s wedding scheduled for this Saturday has been rescheduled to December. Luckily, worked out for us vendor wise.

Bought my niece round trip tickets for her and her grooms honeymoon and resort has shut down, just got a refund and will give them cash instead.

Sounds like your friend was not smart enough to buy insurance

They did not have insurance.. But every other vendor returned their deposits in light of the pandemic without issue. They didn’t ask for the deposits back from any of the local vendors who had actually done work already.

Was it venue fees only or did they have expenses to cover and had already hired folks?
If the food and drinks were included and purchased and labor contracted you cant expect them to eat the whole deal.

Good luck with that, better off trying to negotiate.

The venue had not done anything. They were just holding a 50% deposit and holding the date.

Was supposed to go to a wedding overseas in July. They've already postponed it a year.

I'd get an attorney involved immediately
That's no small amount of money for them to be holding

you are missing the question
Was the payment for rental only or were their other expenses included?

My former roommate, college class mate and wife's high school friend were getting married 3 weeks in a row starting the last Friday in May. Sure we wont be making those anymore

My friend has his wedding in late July. We are planning a bachelor trip in mid June. At first I thought it was far enough out to not be affected but now I’m starting to worry. Still holding out hope though.
