absolutely. i never rode them myself but , my kids did.

Yes rode one in that zoo around '86 or so.

Yes both camels and elephants you could ride.

I most certainly do, me, my older brother and my younger cousin rode from Houma to the zoo in the back of my mom's 84 Toyota Carolla. My little cousin talked shite the whole way there about how he was going to ride the elephants with us. When we got there he chickened out. When we got home he still talked shite to his dad and told him he rode the elephants. Good times, that's when cousins were best friends and you could do cool shite like ride elephants and camels at the zoo.

Pretty sure the ones in BR were retired circus elephants, so it was easy work for them.
