I agree the older I get, the more I hate summer as well. The damn heat, and bugs....My favorite seasons go in order starting with fall
-football
-sitting outside drinking beer watching said football
-the first crisp fall morning with gameday going getting ready for a full day of football
-halloween and scary movies(new Halloween coming out october 19th!)
-stout beer with a good cigar
-great golf weather

Also, the big peanuts for boiling come in early fall. A Saturday afternoon eating boiled peanuts while watching football is just about perfect.

Just like the OP, I prefer the fall/winter months in this part of the world and am about sick and tired of dealing with the summer heat and humidity.
Grilling, tending my vegetable garden, catching up on outdoor chores I've put off all summer long----unless absolutely necessary.
College and pro football, cold beers and being outside without chancing going into heat stroke are what I'm looking forward to most.
