I always upgraded my sound system until I got my 19 ram with the harman kardon system

My wife drives the Limited Ram with that audio in it. It sounds great. Especially with live music.

My '15 Silverado came with the GM Bose system, sounds just as good as any aftermarket system, especially with the hidden sub-woofer.
Last time I put a system in my vehicle was my '91 Blazer when car audio sucked. Problem was, every time an amp went out, which was often, I had to replace it...

this, newer cars have been coming with excellent sound systems for decades now, used to be the first thing I'd do when I bought a new whip was rip out the stereo, I've even had the dealership do it before I picked up the car

Significant rse in hearing aids in those under 50 thanks to car audio and earpods.

We have a 17 denali with the bose and it's not my favorite. My wife even noticed compared to my old trucks aftermarket and my new one. It has wayyy too much bass and muffled.

Did you adjust your tone settings?

Speaker building is one of my hobbies so I can't help but hone in on this. I have built quite a few subs but all for HT so they are usually 10 to 20 times the volume. I have used a lot of Stereo Integrity subs which is in the same building as Sundown in Newton.
I ran your subwoofer through my modeling software and I was honestly sure the 1st port resonance was going to be an issue but it is actually fine crossed below about 115hz. I assume it is a slot port because 20" of port area tuned to 35hz (based on the reported T/S parameters, I assume you got the exact T/S using something like the Dayton DATS) gives an almost 30" long round port while it is a similar length with a slot port it is less cumbersome to build. Maximum port velocity is not bad at 26 m/s which is something you see compromised in a lot of small car subs since getting it down means more port area which means a long port when most people are looking for a small box.
I see a lot of horribly compromised car audio subs primarily as a result of size constraints but based on Sundown's published T/S parameters that is a very well designed box on paper. Hard to figure cabin gain but in free-air it should have a 4dB bump at 35hz and have -3db at 30hz. It also looks like a good driver for the money, one thing that struck me is how well the voice coil inductance is managed it had almost no perceptible drop off above 60hz.

I'd say that it's a hobby of mine as well, but not to the depth of technical detail I'm confident that you have based on your response
Thanks for the compliments as well. I did model the design in WinISD and this was my second design. Subs back, port (slot) back. Double baffle, 45s in every corner. My first design caused too much chuffing in the port and was tuned a tad too low for my liking (30-32 hz was where it seemed to peak) unless it was straight trap type rap (which I rarely listen to). I may go for a third design and play with either an octo port or aero and slightly increase the port area once more, keep the tuning the same.
Prior to this Jeep, I ran two SA15s on a single RF Power 1500 in my Colorado. Subs and Port up (removed back set). It was a monster of a setup, I just honestly didn't want to do the electrical required for that size setup in the Jeep since Mrs. Cotten is typically the daily driver of it.

That may look better than the HDMI port exhaust.

Sounds like you know what you're doing bud. Also this takes me back to when I messed with car audio in my 96' Celica 25th anniversary edition when I was 16.
