They could spend more time pulling you over for expired tags or inspection stickers....or establishing more state police checkpoints / roadblocks on a Saturday or Sunday morning to see how many drivers they can get for that and no insurance , etc so that they may fill the Parish and department's coffers as well.
You realize that those "pretextual stops" actually yield very little in terms of getting violent criminals . It's a money grab just like the rousting of the prostitutes. The prostitutes spend time in jail, they make bail pay the fines and court costs. The public is not safer, but law enforcement gets its money.
