I think it’s the best town in Ohio. German Village area is really cool.

Been here for 15 years, absolutely love it.

I give it a lot of shite but it is the nicest city in that region. I still don’t understand how the women are all fat asses as soon as they hit 25 though.

It’s ok. Some good restaurants downtown but nothing particularly exciting about the city

few years go I read it has 30K+ Somalis
I lived in Dublin, OH which is basically Columbus and can confirm this.
Whenever I went to Walmart everybody in there was Somali. Even the workers. It was bizarre.

Imagine a cold and/or cloudy day. Now imagine that day repeating itself 240 times. The glory that is sunshine cannot be overstated. I don’t care how many franchised eateries or retail stores a town has. If the sun doesn’t shine most of the year, you can count on feeling depressed.

I worked with a Somalian guy at a UPS distribution center in Columbus. One morning he picked a box up off of one belt and tossed it onto an overhead belt. The box broke open and purple dildos rained down on his head.

A good friend of mine moved to Canton for a few years after medical school. He said they felt like they didn’t see the sun for 3 years. When he was ready to go into private practice, they moved south of Austin. I think they get enough sunshine and warmth now!

I have a relative that works for THE Ohio State University.
Likes it. One of, if not the only, bright spots of Ohio

C-Bus is great except for talking college football to crazy buckeye fans. Winter does suck, but way overstated in this thread....it's basically just January and February.

It was 55 on Sunday and the snowblower hasn't been started once this year

German Village is awesome. Schmidt’s Sausage Haus and Restaurant. The Buffet is a must

Columbus is a GREAT city!! It’s absolutley booming here. It’s the fastest growing city in the entire Northeast or Midwest. That says something. It has some really cool areas. The Arena District, Short North, Easton, Polaris, Victorian Village, Grandview...plus there are some major renovation and construction areas that are going to transform Columbus. Franklinton is about to explode with the projects they have planned. The Blue Jackets are a hot ticket the last 4-5 years. That’s a great time in the Arena District. The Columbus Crew are building a brand new stadium in the Arena District right next to Nationwide Arena and Huntington Bank Park. When it’s done it’s going to be an amazing place for sports fans. Lastly,...If you are into major college sports, then Columbus is for you. Again, Columbus has more in common with Austin, Nashville and Charlotte than it does with rust belt cities. It’s a great city to live in.

Live here now. Love it. Feels new and clean compared to places like Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Cincy etc.

The US average is 205 days of sun. Columbus averages 178 (Baton Rouge is 214)

My father-in-law lived in a suburb outside Columbus. I’ve been there a number of times. I cannot overstate how dreary winters are in Ohio. Whatever economic opportunities that city offers would not be good enough for me because quite frankly I want to be able to enjoy the outdoors more than three months a year
