Any of y'all ever get a professional massage before - how was it?

At about $100/hour, I am looking into it for the girl and myself. Worth it? She has lower back and neck pains due to a car accident from college so I thought this would be a good treat. Went online and the number of options are crazy. Hot stones, scented hot towels, etc. Crazy!

I have a massage membership at Massage Envy, I chose them because they have multiple locations in the states that I travel to for work.

A massage by a professional masseuse is one of life’s greatest pleasures for me.

Great way to relieve aches and stress.

Had a deep tissue massage once and was sore for 3 days. It was nice but not something I feel like I need to seek out.

My wife and I got a couples massage once. They called her in a minute before me. Guy who called her was this young, muscular guy. I thought, “ok good, my girl must be attractive also”.

Nope! I got a 60-something year old grey haired lady who massaged my fricking fingers and toes half of the hour that we purchased. Every time I looked over at my wife on the table next to mine she started laughing.

Pretty sure she orchestrated that behind my back

Why not try to get it covered by insurance if she was in an accident?

Why don’t y’all just massage each other up and save some money? Happy finishes for everyone.

Didn’t get my first one until I was 35. Notwithstanding the OT jokes, a good massage is awesome.

A professional massage or a “professional” massage?

I love the thai massage where the fat old ladies walk, kneel, and elbow all over. If you like deep tissue, there is nothing better. It hurts, but so good.

It's $100/90 minutes at a place near me, which likely doesn't help you at all.

I had only one massage. The lady wasn’t attractive and talked the whole time. She massaged the bottom of my left foot and said my right shoulder was hurting. The woman was correct.

Put rocks on my back . No happy ending though. This was in Oklahoma.

My wife is an LMT. She will NEVER work for Massage Envy because how they treat their practitioners. (The therapists themselves get less than 40 cents on the dollar for every client and get tips deducted from their pay)

She has owned her own business for about 3 years. Her most lucrative service is Zen Bodytherapy which is unbelievably painful but can actually fix your body (it even can restructure bowleggedness)

The price that I paid for a six month membership felt like I was stealing from the company. I have yet to figure out how a franchisee makes money and why an LMT would want to work for them, especially when you factor in their long hours of operation.
