I’m not sure what you’re getting at with your 2nd Amendment comment.
What type of programs would you like to see implemented in New Orleans to address the rampant crime?

I got out in 2012. Georgetown Tx is sooo much nicer than BR.

I'm getting ready. What are some good small towns within 6 hours of BR where land is available? Western Florida seems ok. Fairhope is crowded. Central AL has some nice topography but still surrounded by shitty major cities. Houston is full so I don't want to be anywhere near it.

Williamson County is what I imagine purgatory to be like. Endless generic blandness both in the people and the place itself. Entirely inoffensive but about as much fun as a bottle of ambien.

How about prosecuting offenders to the limit of the law while at the same time respecting due process and other constitutional rights?
Neither side seem to consider this as a viable option, for whatever reason.

England with a more rapid downfall than Louisiana has got to be far and away the worst take in this thread.

Already sold large house uptown and phased out business. Marking time in Lakeview until wife decides on South Alabama or North Mississippi. Lived here for more than 70 years.
The problem is clear and yet no one will talk about it. Crime here is a black franchise. There is almost literally no white violent crime. Why should we stay and try to fix what’s not ours to fix? Police and courts and judges get involved only after the fact. They’re not in the prevention business. Black society is irretrievably broken. Stay and hide or make a break for it. I’m gone.

Overall most dangerous cities are
Detroit, MI
Memphis, TN
Birmingham, AL
Baltimore, MD
St. Louis, MO
Kansas City, MO
Cleveland, OH
Little Rock, AR
Milwaukee, WI
Stockton, CA
That's based on 2018 numbers... Baton Rouge almost doubled their murders from 2018 to 2021.

How much time have you spent in England? How many personal friends do you have there? I’d bet real money I’ve got you beat on both by a wide margin.

Me and the hispanic homies will pour out a Michelada for you when you get carjacked and killed.
Posted on 5/6/22 at 6:27 pm to LordSnow
Carjackings have dropped tremendously the last few months fyi. You need some new material.
But I guess I actually follow this stuff and know what I’m talking about, unlike people like you who parrot anecdotal talking points from political groups with a vested interest in making things here seem and feel worse than they actually are.

Again not making excuses or saying the situation isn’t bad, it’s just not literally the worst place in the country or a 3rd world nation as some pretend. The hyperbole has gotten out of hand and takes away from legitimate discussion about the issues in the city and the state.
We have three cities in the top 10, and apparently had none in 2018. I don’t think anyone here is being hyperbolic.
10 Most Dangerous Cities in the US
1. St. Louis, Missouri
2. Jackson, Mississippi
3. Detroit, Michigan
4. New Orleans, Louisiana
5. Baltimore, Maryland
6. Memphis, Tennessee
7. Cleveland, Ohio
8. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
9. Kansas City, Missouri
10. Shreveport, Louisiana

Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and New Orleans went from 50th, 38th, and 19th to 10th, 8th, and 4th.
Doing work.
