Considered and moved 7+ years ago. Would never return permanently, but enjoy periodic visits with family and friends. Then I GTFO.

I’m locked in for a certain number of years to the whole region, so I can’t go too much further.

Really wish I could go, though.

I would have left long ago due to the poverty and illiteracy.

Coming up on 3 years since we moved away... looking back it was a great decision. I didn't expect quite the precipitous decline, but the writing has been on the wall.

I want out, but I have to convince the woman to leave. I don't want to raise kids here.

Understand - I had to convince the husband

Now we just need to find jobs elsewhere, in which we’ve had no luck

Start sending her links to every violent crime, especially the ones close to you. Follow it up with private school prices.

Crime is here to stay. Most judges aren't persecuting anyone.

Madisonville and Mandeville are full. Please don’t look there.

Haven't lived in Louisiana since graduating, but always had it in my mind that I would move back home to Shreveport. I had basically come to the conclusion prior to this past sunday but it really kind of solidified the idea that barring some major change, I won't ever be moving my family back there. It kind of weighed on me this week to realize that that truly isn't an option any more.

I've wanted to move for 15+ years, but have kids with an ex wife who stays because her "cajun culture" is in Louisiana.

As soon as the kids are out of school age......

Been wanting out of this shithole. As soon as my kids graduate high school I'm gone.

Yeah. What he said. Except I am looking forward to moving away from the ex as much as anything.

I’m ready to leave now but the wife says she “isn’t ready yet”. I have a feeling she’ll never be

I was in Perdido Key staying with a friend at his place in Lost Key aka Lost Ball. Friend sent me the news article about the little girl getting shot in a drive by in BR.

Made my decision to sell my BR house for a place in lost key so easy. I work from my phone/laptop and justified living in Baton Rouge because I have tickets to everything LSU.

I’m done. The police chief lives in Prarieville for a reason. Call in the national guard already, BR/NOLA.
