Don’t have the label but did the full navy seals training one summer.

Nope to a former SEAL but I am really good friends with a former Ranger. He would check every stereotype box of the OT
Incredibly nice guy that would do anything for his friends. I wouldn’t care to know what he could do in a bar fight though.

Cleared Hot Podcast
Andy Stumpf is a former Navy Seal that host a pretty good podcast. He is brutally honest and humble about his time in the teams.

With the amount of posters on this site I’m sure there’s some meat eaters here. Seals, rangers, green berets, the works. Honestly I’d rather know if there is/was a delta guy floating around here. That would make for some interesting stories.

I love Andy's podcast
Since I was a kid, I've had in my head that special operations guys don't always look like what you'd think - probably goes back to that Desert Storm photo.
But even with that Andy is like a corny school principal - he's nothing like how I'd envision a SEAL/devgru guy.
ETA - We had a dude whose son was going through BUD/S I think, haven't seen anything from him in a while

My sister-in-law’s boyfriend pinned on his trident pretty recently. Sent some pictures from survival training in remote Alaska after he finished BUDS. Looked insane. Haven’t gotten to talk to him about the process.

I had a hiking group friend who was in special forces, he never ever talked about it. His role was not typical though, he's one of the handful credited with defeating ISIS. Very classy, humble guy.
Bill Dean
He died on Mt Rainier in a rockfall. Very experienced hiker and climber.

Arleigh William “Bill” Dean, 45, of Juneau, Alaska, died of multiple traumatic injuries after he was caught in a rockfall along Mt. Rainier’s Liberty Ridge, the Pierce County, Wash., medical examiner’s office said earlier this month.
Dean had retired from the Army as a lieutenant colonel in August 2017 after a career mostly leading overseas special operations that many Americans may never know the details about, officials said.
quote:
Dean endured some of the harshest military training, including Special Forces Qualification, Army Ranger School, Army Air Assault School, Military Freefall School, and Special Operations Dive School.
“This is devastating news,” Brett McGurk, the former presidential envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS, said on Twitter in the days after Dean’s death. “Bill Dean was a quiet warrior who helped lead the campaign against ISIS in Syria. His courage and ingenuity turned a bleak situation into a winning campaign.”
Dean played a main role during the 2015 battle against ISIS in Kobane, and in other areas of Syria, said Polat Can, a senior leader in the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, in a June 1 tweet.
Wesley Morgan, Politico’s military affairs reporter, wrote that a former colleague of Dean described him as “easily one of the five most important Americans on [the] ground in the campaign.”

A real Navy SEAL would have already told you he was a Navy SEAL.

Of course. Wouldn’t expect a CAG guy to spill the beans but man the stories that guy would have lol.

Then you have never met any recent ones. The Vietnam era guys are good to go. The more recent ones ensure you know they were as soon as they open their mouth!
