This is what I was experiencing. I could fall asleep sitting straight up. I’ve been wearing a CPAP for over 20 years and do not feel sluggish during the day. You will definitely feel better

Make people call you Bane now.

I’m always tired. Can’t help it. On the weekends, my body would stay asleep past noon. It’s not that hard to understand.

I changed from the mask to the nasal pillow version and sleep much better. Overall the machine helped sleep quality.

They're hit or miss.
It hasn't been a life changing piece of equipment for me.
My sinuses close up, and Afrin is the biggest help for my breathing during sleep. I only use it a couple of times per week tho.

DO IT.
You will not regret it. Try out the nose pillow kind before the full fighter pilot getup. I'm telling you, my cognitive productivity went up 1000% once I got my APAP.

They start at $600 I think. Then all the special tubing and face piece.

My doctor sent me to a sleep study center.

It’s the OT where everyone is 5’-7” 285 lbs with a 40 inch waste. You know there are many CPAP users in here.

Pillows are much easier to deal with…they allow you to sleep on your side
Not only will it make a big difference, it will help your overall health, untreated sleep apnea is really bad for your heart, lungs etc…
Neighbor of mine died in his sleep at 45…they said it was because of untreated sleep apnea.

I have no clue....I have insurance and pay like $35 a month
I have the nasal pillows and the chin strap to keep my mouth closed bc I'm a mouth breather. But ever since my surgery I tried to use it a few times and it wont re calibrate so I just quit using it. I should probably start using it again and let it re calibrate.

Don't resign yourself to a CPAP yet. Normal people can have several apneas each night. Your fatigue could be a result of poor diet and lack of exercise.

Get the Dreamweaver. Not intrusive to nose or mouth

My AHI was around 70 when I got mine.
I had been suffering the effects of my apnea for years (tired, lethargic, going into a fugue state, being ridiculously sleepy by noon even after sleeping 10-12 hours the night before, etc).
After a week, I felt almost brand new. It's been over a year now and I can still tell the difference.
The hardest part was getting used to the mask, but the progress made me stick with it. Now I feel kind of odd if I don't have it (and I feel like shite the next day if I sleep without it).

Yeah. My diet (aside from excessive caffeine intake) is much better. My wife does the cooking, and she’s very health conscious. I can’t say I’m big on exercise.

I gotcha...I deferred to the home test the both times I took it. The first time I had 30 episodes(1 night) which was considered severe sleep apnea, after my surgery I scored a 3-5 (2 nights) but they still recommended that I wear it but I haven't worn it since January

Not a diet, a lifestyle change to keep you alive

I’ve heard the mask is a game changer.
You have options ...
Nose pillows
Flexible facial
Hard facial
If you sleep with your mouth closed, nose pillows are least intrusive
You will probably have a follow up in 30 to 90 days. At that point a BiPAP may be needed if the CPAP is not enough.

Agreed. I'd refused to believe I had an issue for years but finally gave in and got a study done. Averaged 17ish episodes an hour so got prescribed a cpap. Didnt take long to start noticing a marked improvement, then somehow one night pulled the machine off my side table and fricked it up. Had to go a couple nights without it til I got a new machine and noticed a difference straight away. Back to being tired, lethargic and grumpy as hell without it.
