I don't know but the dealerships I've been passing in Texas are packed with cars and trucks like I haven't seen since 2019.

I figured out how to shift gears on a hill in high school, and then taught my girlfriends

The lack of cruise control is painful. I know that can be added aftermarket. But then you gotta remember to turn that shite off when you push the clutch.

For 10k I’m all in.

So it’s 10k and might be sold in Mexico. Got to pay a 25% tariff to import it here. What’s the law on buying a car in Mexico and bringing it into the US?

First you buy a brand new, never been dumped in metal dumpster and put the turret in it with raising and lowering capabilities. Then you put the dumpster on the bed of that truck.

And you park wherever you want whenever you want.

You would have to prove the crash safety tests have been done or buy 4 or 5 of them to let them government crash.

Pretty sure you'll have to wait 25 years to legally import and register one here in the states. Otherwise the federal government has been known in the past to seize and destroy the vehicles of those who tried to get around this regulation.

The only way around it would be to bring one in for off road duties like working inside of mines, ranches etc.

This website says you can buy one and import it as long as it's 25 years old or more. Some decent deals there too.
jdm export

ETA: I just noticed you said "street legal". That's just talking about legality of importing one. My bad. What makes them not street legal?

I dig it.

I could live without a tachometer.

I would pay the upgrade cost to get a bed rather than a flatbed though.

Don't need the bed but a lift and 4x4 would make a great camp vehicle.

No tach either - sure hope you can hear it, because otherwise you’ll be using your sense of smell.

I’m so confused… I didn’t think we were supposed to use that word anymore and it’s been all over threads for the last few days.

My ‘84 Toyota had no tach. We just knew how to drive a stick. You can feel it and hear it. It’s a crime that truck makers have killed the manual transmission.

But at least we have tailgates that unfold 67 different ways now. So yay.

I bet it would cut down on the serial cell phone users at least in town.
