For instance, if your direct ancestors were Moors who conquered Spain would you be shown with Spanish or N. African origin?
They say the results go back 500-1,000 years. Modern national boundaries and even in some cases countries/their names did not exist then. So, in that case someone would likely be genetically more Northern African.

Makes sense
What about if your direct ancestors were the Spaniards that were conquered? Would they be able to tell the difference?
Like would you be labeled as "Iberian Peninsula " or something?

My sister did this (I'd never give my DNA to the government) and we found out we have black cousins in Dallas and in Georgia. I'm now the proud owner of a Dodge Charger and got my queen to start using coca butter.

Just like the damn commercial I discovered my last name was not actually English Irish but was in fact Anglonized French. I am a fricking frog

Man, that shite has become a money grab. I did it years ago and it was cool. Someone who was like a 4th or 5th cousin reached out and shared a picture with my grandpa in it.. Then I ended up forgetting about it then all of a sudden a few years ago I started getting emails from them all the time with titles like "this person might be a close relative". And all it is is some bullshite telling you that for only $_____ a month you can keep up with _________".
If they ever do some sinister shite with people's DNA I guess I am fricked, but I tried to unsubscribe to their emails and they still send them.

From what I recall their French section isn’t the best as France outlaws these tests.

That's similar to the switch I had from French to Acadian...I'm puzzled why they seem to be moving toward more recent history then they have in the past...I'd prefer that they go as far into the past as possible...
