Sadly, I'm starting to think this is genuine as well. The girl in the video looks just like the missing girl IMO.
As for why someone would upload an admission of a crime while showing their face, it takes a psychopath to kidnap anyone in the first place. Dude probably originally found enjoyment in knowing that this video was out there, but he made it too vague for anyone to really catch onto the content. He made the YouTube account just for this video, and it took 7 years for it to become viral.
Now that it's getting a lot more attention, he should be pretty easily identified and found.

He keeps looking towards his left, every time he struggles with what he's trying to say, as if he's reading a script. At the 38 second mark, he starts to struggle again, and looks as it appears he is struggling to remember his line, and the whole setup looks fake, imo. Either way, it's a good thing the Antigo PD is looking into it.

They need the FBI and their cyber forensics team. A local PD won't be able to Crack this very fast. FBI will already know who he is within a couple hours.

I hope you're right and you probably are, but the video is over the top creepy. Some of the connections to the missing girl are odd as well, although some seem dubious.

Doesn't seem fake to me. It could be but the mom has verified it sounded and looked like her daughter and the clothes were a close match.

That said, that guy is a freak and should be locked up just for making that video, real or not.

If it's her, and there is videotape of her IRL out there they can do voice recognition analysis. Were it my child, I would obviously know her voice.

No one finds it coincidental that the video was uploaded exactly 7 years ago, to the day?
Can't they just find the IP address he uploaded it from and find out where it was uploaded and be done with it?
