Guy’s definitely overweight but I don’t view him as “obese” as compared to peers (though I understand he is according to published medical height/weight ratio charts).

The medical definition of obese is the only definition that matters since that is the definition used to report the statistics.

At this point in time the odds of catching covid are extremely low, so choosing to take something that could have adverse effects can be considered riskier.

lol no, it can't logically be considered riskier. Not even close.

The risk is choosing to take something that puts you at risk. It's not leaving it to chance that you might catch something that you have a 99.98% chance of recovering from even if you get it.

What percentage of morbidly obese people (whom are under 35 with no other major heath issues...unrelated to weight) were hospitalized as a result of Covid? 1%? Less?

I don’t even think it hits the morbidly obese people or smokers under 35 that hard....unless they have diabetes or something.

For some reason diabetes makes it worse.

But I would still get the vaccine if you are around people that are at risk, because this thing does seem to vary in severity for some reason. That includes smokers, overweight, elderly, COPD, lung disease, etc.

And unfortunately not everyone knows they have some kind of lung issue. A lot of people think Edward Aschoff had Covid in December 2019. He had some kind of undiagnosed lung disease that likely made his situation worse.

Isn't that the point though? A vaccine would have given him a chance to get through it.

Doesn’t the vaccine give you a smaller chance to catch it, and not “get through it”?

So even with the vaccine he could’ve still gotten the virus, right?
