And graduate school as well. In Healthcare Management.

I'm not an "Anti-masker" in the sense that there are true Anti Vaccine people out there, though.

I just think it's stupid to be made to wear one. That being said, if the sign on the store door says "Mask required" I'll pull it out of my pocket or go back to the car and get it off the rearview mirror and put it on.

Education does not necessarily make someone intelligent, if you pay attention you’ll see multiple examples of this daily.

This thread is one example

Don't flip the script.

The people doing the most shamimg on here are the anti-mask people.

Anybody who has an opposing view to theirs is met with insults and vitriol.

But they love to make themselves out to be the victims.

Yes, I have a college degree. Maybe I'm not a "true" anti-masker. My problem is with the lack of consistency in this mandate. It apparently isn't a true mandate for one thing. I visited several eating establishments this weekend. All of them told me that as soon as I was seated I was free to remove it. Does the virus not travel if the person carrying it is seated? Or is it just a mandate when it is convenient?
Several businesses on require it as you are entering and exiting.

I haven't seen any dependable data that proves masks are effective. I have also seen the spread of the virus seems to be more rampant in areas where mask wearing is more prevalent. It seems like more of a symbol to me.

I also think its racist to say someone is only intelligent if they graduate from college as Black lives account for only 16% of the nations college grads.

Apparently moving to Austin is strongly correlated with one's farts ceasing to stink, even without a mask.

no you're thinking of Riceland or Producers

My fiance's dad owns the chemicals company that's fumigating the mill. If Riceland halts production be prepared for some rice shortages. We produce around 50% of the nations rice out of our little town

The answer is yes.

The answer is also that I believe masks work. I believe those masks should be properly worn N95 or equivalent or nothing. A bandana or cloth mask is completely useless.

I also believe mandates are bullshite, and individual store owners should set their own policy. The fact that many stores only started requiring masks after a mandate was in place proves that they are primarily concerned about liability, not the health of their customers.

I also believe that any ordinance, mandate, or law that is reliant upon citizens for enforcement is a bad ordinance, mandate, or law.

You're trying to make yourself the victim with the crybaby post.

What do you think there is more of offline:

Poeple yelling at non-mask wearers or people telling at mask wearers? The answer is obvious

It is.

Which is why "anti-maskers" calling anyone that wears a mask "bootlickers", "statists", or "government lap dogs" is also retarded.

Seems about 50/50 on here. On social media and elsewhere it's 90/10 the pro mask people doing the shaming. And your response does not address my question....how does shaming non-mask wearers benefit the public good??

It doesn't.

Shaming makes people dig in further.

Graduate STEM degree.
Job title has the word "scientist" in it.

I view masks as best slightly effective.
Which still doesn't affect total infected it just elongates time.

At worst they do nothing.

Most likely they lead to increase in pneumonia and flu etc as dirty masks in face are a bad idea.

A COVID particle is too small to be filtered by anything you are putting on your face.

How come no scientists or doctor has ever suggested masks for flu season?

The mask push was just an attempt to blame people sitting at home for the virus being spread instead of the events in June that really did it.

I'm not holistically anti-mask. I just think it's a band-aide meant to virtue signal and make people feel better about something out of their control. If you're feeling sick, you should stay home. If you're old and vulnerable, you should stay home. These people should be wearing a mask at home if someone comes to visit and those visitors should wear masks. But healthy people wearing them out in public, where they should be staying away from others... pointless.
I also want to add that people should still be washing their hands constantly. Hand washing and staying away from others is still far more beneficial than people incorrectly wearing cloth masks for the 9th day in a row without a filter or being disinfected.
