I've lost count of the number of Chevy trucks I know of that have over 300k miles. Know of several over 500k. One at 700k.

They're all mostly reliable now. Jody Plauche has like 500k on his F150

It's all about how the individual owner takes care of the vehicle now. Toyota is behind on features compared to other full size trucks, so thet wouldn't get much of a look from me.

OP, I'd go with the 3 year newer truck.

I looked at the Tundra last year when I bought my truck and I think it needs updating. It's looked the same forever and was pretty plain on the inside imo.

I get a new one every 7-8 years anyway. I drive about 8-9k per year now so I'll probably never see 100k in my current one

They haven't updated the interior of the Tacoma in like 10 years. It's still a great truck but fell behind in that department. Not worth the price anymore. Especially now that there's actual competition in mid sized trucks.

Both bad substitutes for an F150.

Silverado, Toyota has no features and burns to much gas for what you get. Take care of your Silverado and you will get as many miles out of it as you want.

You and the three dumb people who upvoted your post must not be aware that the Tundra and Tacoma are made in Texas.

Educate yourself before making a dumbass post.

Most of the foreign manufacturers have US based plants. I pass a huge Mercedes plant every time I go visit the inlaws in Gump land

After a year of being in a Wrangler Unlimited and wanting to get back into a truck, I’ve been truck shopping lately. Have narrowed it down to a 2018 Silverado crew cab 4x4 or z71 or a 2015 Toyota Tundra crew max 4x4 with 38k miles, both of these options are 35k out the door (no ot baller here). It’s hard for me to pay the same for a 3 year old truck but I know tundras reliability. But there’s something to say about a brand new truck with 0 miles.

Inb4 never buy new blah blah

I would go with the Chevy but I would try to find one that is about a year old. They are tough to find but they are out there. Toyota is expensive to fix when you have to do something and it be three years in the hole out front only hurts you down the road, IMO.

I've had a couple F150s in a row now and really like them over the Chevy but Chevy is a really good truck too.

If you can afford the Toyota and reliability matters to you, then the only answer is Toyota.

Problem is that the pickup just isn't as good a pickup and repairs are crazy. I had an inspector on a job a couple years ago who had a Tundra and didn't drive it one day. i asked him where it was and he told me it was in the shop for an alternator. Apparently you can't get to it and it was costing him over 1k for an alternator. An alternator on the Chevy? 100 to 200 bucks and 20 minutes with any auto skills at all.

I can always count on you patiently refreshing waiting for me to post.
Your obsession is unfortunate.

eStalking is not cool. I understand you pay MSRP, that's fine. Keep doing that if it makes you feel better and you aren't willing to research.

Stating that Toyota is reliable should not be considered a stretch statement, except I guess by you.

Chevy has those shitty real people not actor commercials.

Go with the Toyota.
