Silverado.

I bought one in 03, and my baw still drives it 15 years later. Repairs have been under 2k all that time.

Toyota is reliable too, but the Chevy is underrated.

I own a Tundra, but $35k for a new Z71 is pretty good. Definitely get the new truck for the same money.

I love my 2016 Tundra. The mpg is bad and it’s not updated but my rear window rolls down and it’s got all the features I want. But there’s nothing wrong with any brands.

Except Nissan. They look like genital warts on wheels. gross

You are not. He follows me around and it's a bit creepy. It's like he's sitting by his computer waiting for me to post, then post right behind me.
He says he is "calling me out", but I'm posting the same type of information other people are in the thread, but he only "calls me out".

I posted "Toyotas are reliable", and yet somehow 20 people before me posted the same thought, but mine was "dumb and needed to be called out".

He's a piece of obsessive work, that's for sure.

73.5% of the Tundra is made in America. 55% of the Silverado is made in America

Both good trucks though.

I think a 2015 Tundra should be cheaper than that.

Well this turned into the Tundra/Chevy fanboys circle jerk we thought it would.

Three year old Toyota. Brand new Z71. Same price for both.

Why is this even a question?

While I agree with you, that’s the going asking price for a 2015/2016 with less than 40k miles.

I’ve seen 2016s with 60/70k miles for $37/38k

100% agree.

I drive a 2010 Sierra that I’ve had zero problems with. Still has the original battery also.

have owned Fords Chevys and Tundras.

Tundras are the best.

My last one I put over 250,000 miles on it and the only time wrenches were put on it were to change the oil and to change the brake pads. The friggin Panasonic battery lasted over 7 years.

Never had to have it aligned. Never had to change and alternator or the shocks or the anything.

Bought a 2017 last year. Has the same 5.7 liter engine as the 07 I had. They are reliable and repair free because Toyota is not changing mechanical parts like engines every two or three years.

They have a lot of towing capacity standard.

They are absolutely more reliable.

We own two fords in our company too and neither of them can make it through the year without some repair or another. Electronics, noisy dash, alternator something.

Bingo.

Let ford keep changing engines and bodystyles.

Toyota found and perfected a truck and engine and every number they state it can tow and do it is certified.

The toyotas do what you need a truck to do and they do it very well

^this.

People saying they get 200000 and 300000 miles out of their Chevy, Dodge Ram and even Ford or totally missing the point. All modern cars will pretty much go for high mileage on the engines. The engines are rarely the problem. It's everything surrounding it. Domestic and British vehicles, especially GM and Chrysler products, fall short everywhere else.

On those makes I can promise you that at 200,000 or 300,000 miles you're going to have a bunch of broken switches, cracked dashboards and other plastic bits, broken window regulators, have replaced a bunch of sensors, air condition flapper doors and vents broken, etc

Also, you can always tell the people who only buy new cars or lease their vehicles because they'll say things like, I have a Chevy Or Dodge and they've never given me problems.

Yeah well, keep them for longer than 3 or 4 years and you'll change your tune pretty quick. All cars, even the shittiest ones, generally don't have problems for the first few years that's why they can offer such great warranties during that time period. There's a reason Japanese vehicles hold their value on the used Market when you can get a comparable GM or Chrysler product for half as much.

honestly the hardest part of buying the toyota is know that in 2 years on less the warranty will be gone and ill still be paying on it. gm is fricking its buyers with the 5 year/60k powertrain, i had a 2010 and had the 5/100k and did have to use it to have the top end rebuilt due to excessive oil consumption.

Yeah they hold value. My 2016 with 9k miles Was $34k when I bought it a year ago. This was in houston.

Of course I’ve never seen a brand new Z71 for that price. I’d have jumped on that for sure.

Depreciation and total cost of ownership.

The only things that really matter.
