We know you don't really mean that and are just trying to appear centrist despite your history of only finding fault with one side.

No one here is stupid enough to buy your BS.

Dude spent 30% of his first post on the topic, and has spent the rest of his 2 day retard binge yelling about everyone on this board, other boards, Trump, Alex Jones, the good people of NC and Florida, and any other magats that can't see his genius.

It would be sad if he wasn't such a piece of shite.

oh really?

Again. Just because i don't like Trump, doesn't make one a liberal. It's just that Trump fanboys are far more prevalent here.

And nobody can pull up a post of mine bragging on the Democrats. Nobody

I never saw her husband's name. Seems this is affecting him as well. I'd feel sorry for him if I knew he didn't believe the same thing she said.

Seems she's getting plenty of attention and not in a good way.

Charlie Kirk is the latest stupid person
quote:

"What you're not being told by the media anywhere is that the death toll would likely not have been as high if it wasn't for DEI," Kirk said. "This Texas tragedy is just the latest example."

quote:

"His priority was not putting out fires or being ready for floods. No, his priority was to make sure that the fire department was Blacker," Kirk added. "But when you hire people based on race, you are not hiring people based on skill.

"How many people unnecessarily died because of DEI? Well, you can rest easy because they say diversity is our strength, and now those little girls are dead," Kirk said. "Those families are without their daughters, but hey, you have a Black fire chief in Austin, you should be happy about that."

The firefighter’s union and union leader are the ones criticizing the Chief for not allowing them to deploy on July 2 due to a standing order in part due to a dispute with the state which was doing the requesting. It also looks like stated reasoning for the June 2025 order to no longer deploy for state requests was already reimbursed before the state request on July 2.
quote:

, “The City is facing a budget crisis, and there is currently something like $800,000 in outstanding reimbursements owed to AFD by the State of Texas. The City wants to make sure this money is reimbursed before the end of the fiscal year, and does not want to be in a situation where additional money is expended on deployments and is not recouped before the end of the fiscal year.”
quote:

“standing order” from leadership, sent through email. KXAN reviewed the email, which was dated June 6 and sent from an AFD Division Chief of Homeland Security and Special Operations. The email said the department was suspending deployments through October 1.

The chief finally at some point on the 4th allowed a few rescue swimmers to go. The chief then blamed a misunderstanding of how he worded the order which didn’t make it clear that it would be still be a case by case basis for emergencies and not an absolute order (not really misunderstood as it was not stated in email that it was a case by case basis).

The chief is black, but I don’t know anything about his hire. A DEI hire would be a very Austin thing to do, but I have never heard of this guy until the union brought up complaint about him. I don’t know about that Fire department, but the state police had to help Austin police for years due to defund police politics putting money elsewhere instead of boots on the ground. They also had to help with the Hamas supporters protesting at the University.

The rescue Crew wanted to be a part of the early deployment before the floods in anticipation of the floods. I am not sure where they actually would have deployed, but supposedly they and San Antonio do a lot of training together to help respond to flash flooding in the hill country. God only knows if they would have helped save an additional life, but it’s a bad look to not have allowed them to try due to likely political differences with the state especially when money allegedly owed was repaid in same month of the order.

quote:

The Austin, Texas, fire chief is being accused of denying requests to send rescuers to Kerrville days before the catastrophic flooding — because of an $800,000 dispute with the state government.

“Highly trained swift water rescue teams” were requested by the state in last week before the floods. But Chief Joel G. Baker denied both requests, the union said, calling it “a dereliction of duty,” the Austin Firefighters Association said.

“Lives were very likely lost because of Chief Baker’s decision,” the union said.

The finger-pointing came after the capital city’s fire department issued a notice saying it wouldn’t deploy personnel outside of Austin because of a budget shortfall, including “something like $800,000 in outstanding reimbursements owed to AFD by the State of Texas,” according to KXAN-TV.

But Nicks asserted that it took external pressure for the deployment to happen, according to KXAN.

“The notion that a department of our size can’t send a few boat crews is ludicrous,” Nicks said.

“We made a promise to go, and we said ‘No,’” he added.

The union held an “emergency” meeting Tuesday, voting unanimously to hold a vote of no confidence in Baker.

… The association’s president, Bob Nicks, claimed the state requested assistance from the Austin Fire Department (AFD) special operations teams more than a day before floodwaters rushed from the Guadalupe River early July 4…
