Some of us genuinely enjoy long road trips as opposed to the mental and physical torture that air travel has become since the pandemic.

You enjoy driving 18 hours instead of a 3 hour plane ride?

You do you man. But statistically you are still much safer flying than you are driving.

I despise driving. 6 hours is about my limit.

I'm probably at about 8 hours for driving.

Thanks man... Now I have to not only worry about DEI substandards...I have to worry about the "announcers jinx" you just threw out there when I board a 777 tomorrow

I live in north Alabama and have a work conference in Aurora, Colorado next week. I’m driving. Between the physical and mental torture that flying has become and the fact I have zero faith in the people building, maintaining, and now even flying the planes, until something changes, my flying days are over.

You trust the thousands of random idiots you’ll cross along the way more than two highly trained pilots and a plane with a pretty good safety record?

What the hell does DEI have to do with 20 year old planes having basic mechanical issues?

The 777 is one of the safest planes flying. Entry into service was 1995, first fatality was 2013 when Asiana pilots fricked up and landed short in San Fran.

Two more happened in 2014 when one was shot down, and the other was MH370 that went missing, highly suspected it was pilot caused.

Damn I should have shorted these guys ... but, I never thought they would emerge from their 737 fiasco like this. They can't seem to tie their shoes correctly these days.

Good choice.

I refuse to fly domestic anymore. I load my shite up in one of my trucks and maybe my wife's bulldog and drive.

#1 reason--I'm armed the while trip and at my destination.

Some of you people are more mentally soft than the biggest skyscreaming lib at an Antifa rally in Portland.

I always feel naked when flying to another city and thus not carrying. How much of a hassle is it to check a pistol? May need to get a cheap one for travel.

I think it’s the idea of mass fatalities that freaks everyone out.

Mostly it the lack of any control of the situation.

But, again as I said earlier, my situation is different than others. My company gives me a vehicle allowance, fuel card, and I get paid mileage. When you do the math, it makes absolute sense for me to drive whenever possible.

That's great you have that option. My question for you is, how do you and your company justify 4 full travel days for this conference in Colorado? As a business owner, I don't see how I could do that.

Isn’t American Airlines wanting to promote minority baggage claims handlers to pilots (or maybe it was air traffic controllers)?

Chill out, Francis.

I’m an NRA instructor and CHL holder (obviously), but no where near as guarded as you.

Just relax.

Other than airlines using DEI in their hiring practices of everyone from baggage handlers to mechanics and flight crew up to and including pilots?
