A cruise ship crashed into a tourist boat and then into a dock in Venice, Italy on Sunday after suffering an engine failure.
Video posted to social media showed passengers escaping from the tourist boat and running down the dock as the cruise ship rapidly approached.
Video at link.

All those people just standing on the dock have some guts. I would be running full speed away from that ship.

Cruise ships are kind of tourist boats too.

Banksy was probably involved.

F = ma
In this case, the m is VERY large. It takes a huge amount of friction with anything in its path to make a approach zero (STOP).
Remember the MV Bright Field crashing into the Riverwalk in 1996? It hit the wharf at 14 knots.

Said something about engine failure.
If you think about it, cruise ship engines are almost always running. And the ship is moving. A typical 7 day cruise, or 168 hours, the ship is only docked about 4 times, 10 hours or so at each port. So, it's moving 75% of the time, always fully powered.
