UPS, for at least 20 years, has a habit worse than the rest. If you pay for 5 day delivery, your delivery will be delivered on the 5th day. Even if it's been sitting at the local depot the drivers leave from since the end of day 2.

Agreed. FedEx is horrendous.

take USPS over FedEx. Ive had FedEx literally leave packages on the fricken curb. At least my mailman puts them on my porch and tries to hide them if theyre small enough.
Same. And FedEx routinely leaves my packages at other random houses in the neighborhood.

Are there really people in the country that not only go thru it but see the stuff and are like...yeah, I need to have some cigars and a home warranty today. Wednesdays are our junk mail day, three grocery store sale papers and about 20 pieces of other crap.
I’ve always thought it was odd how everything is supposed to be green now but no one has gone after the junk mail industry

Maybe overall, but our USPS carrier is awesome

Reading is not a hiring criterion for Fedex.

but our USPS carrier is awesome

I agree with this.
The post office closest to my work is garbage and the people in there have no soul. The post office closest to my house is great, and my usual delivery driver is a nice dude.

Something happened in the last year or two, complaints are blowing up everywhere about the USPS Regional Facilities.
Packages arrive there and it's like the Bermuda triangle.
If there was an investigation, I'm sure they'd find employees stealing stuff or just throwing packages in the garbage or something. Or just redirecting packages to another regional facility across the country to get rid of the work or just because they can, to mess with people / the system. No other way to explain the amount of packages that go missing. Willful incompetence with malice.

Any time I see a package is supposed to be delivered by USPS (United States Postal Service) I just consider it gone.
9/10 times it’s never shows up, or is lost, or is late. USPS is garbage and needs to be done away with.
My mail carrier is batting like .998
You must live in a shitty location with a shitty work force

USPS is garbage in your area because its staffed by garbage people who have no oversight and no consequences for poor performance.
USPS is fine in my area.
What we have is an oversight problem, not a concept issue. The entire nation is better off with a postal service, we just want one that is efficient and properly run.
USPS is generally pretty good around me too. I don't have a problem with the post office "losing money." It's not a business, it's a public service. I understand that my opinion on that may be the minority.
I am worried about the service in my area deteriorating soon though because there is some sort of route shuffling about to happen. I'm also not real big on public sector unions and don't think they should exist.

Plus with identity theft being a huge issue how no one has stopped all the pre approved cc offers that are constantly mailed
My biggest worry is those loan checks with your name on them that are legit checks if you deposit them. If you deposit then you owe that money. What if someone steals that check and cashes it at some shady liquor store?
Those should be illegal to send out. It’s not secure at all

Amazon should do a real FU to USPS, UPS, and FedEx. They should start their own person to person parcel and express delivery service using their delivery network.

I am the same way. USPS I just as soon file a claim when ordering because I will never see it.
Posted on 12/4/25 at 7:14 pm to sidewalkside
If you knew anything about this industry, you would understand Amazon would never deliver all of their parcels themselves. Too costly. Also, there is no other company that could deliver for them as cheap as USPS does. No one is allowed to deliver to mailboxes like we do. Who else would deliver all of those small parcels to the doors of rural addresses? Amazon is not happy that USPS rejected their latest offer, anything they say is simply posturing. Just like coaches and their agents during coaching searches.

Would save millions getting rid of USPS.
If f course anyone not a politician or their friend wouldn’t see any of those savings.
