How is he playing on a Baton Rouge travel ball team? I thought the team traveled. I didn't know the players had to travel to go to practice.

Not sure why this is absurd. This kid just made a list of 24 kids who will Trey out for Team USA at that age. Seems like a pretty big accomplishment if you ask me. Just think of all the travel ball kids at that age and he was selected as one of the 24 best in the country.

This was always a thing. That's why they have youth baseball camps. And if you were good the University would send you birthday cards.

All these loser parents think their 12 year old is going pro. So then they do a bunch of dumb shite like this and stunt his development. Putting all that pressure on a 12 year old and building it up in his head that he's some superstar is just fricking cringe. This is the male equivalent of pageant moms/kids.
