Right. It's not like Anonymous is some organized entity working together and plotting coordinated actions. As stupidly straightforward as this is, it is just some anonymous people on the internet that don't even necessarily know each other. Anyone can claim to be anonymous. Maybe every once in a while someone claiming to be anonymous has some legit abilities, but it is just as likely to be some teenager who thinks he sounds cool and edgy on the internet.

This thread has a few wackos. "OT" is just single fat dudes living in their mom's basement typing on keyboards slathered with cheeto dust while simultaneously whining about how girls don't like gentlemen or how fat they are. They're not even linked together or a part of a group. They just call themselves that because they think it sounds sweet but it's just more 4chan autism.

Space is big. Really big. It's very likely that alien life exists somewhere. Even if aliens have mastered interstellar travel, they would not necessarily visit us. Space is also really old. It's highly likely that any civilization once advanced enough destroys itself. Planets like Venus/Mars could even have been inhabited by aliens at one point.

Time is longer than space is big...there could have been countless intelligent civilizations, but to line up directly in time with, and near, us would be astonishing. To say something existed in the past is much less groundbreaking than predicting something will happen (outside of the origin of human existance), scientifically speaking.

What does aliens and other inhabited planets have to do with the dominant religious paradigm your family learned? Aliens do not cancel jesus teachings. Love your neighbor like you love yourself.
I and you and the divine person ( "father") are One.

No. Scientists can only operate from a position of knowledge. You want them to operate based off of suppositions. It is known that life can develop on planets with Earth like conditions because we have direct evidence that it has. There fore when we observe planets that are possibly Earth like we can say that from what we know it is a potential life supporting planet.

We have not observed life on gas planets or planets unlike our own, so we have no reason to include them as candidates. Once we do then we can add them to the list of candidate planets.

Under your position it is "the height of arrogance" to use our current and expanding knowledge to narrow our search to possibilities that we currently can understand. You think we must instantly know everything before undertaking the process to figure it out.

that's still hard to believe that not one of them besides ours has life.

intelligent life. not even that. self aware, human like intelligence. Thats what people are really thinking. So even our planet didnt have that outside of one thing. and only right now do they have it. you would have to find a planet that evolved beyond alien horses and mosquitos and Venus fly traps and lillypads, and then also find that planet at the point where it had self aware species.

what are the chances that the era of intelligent species of two planets exist at the same moment?

Across billions of galaxies, each having millions of stars and each of those most likely having multiple planets...

I'd say the odds are probably in favor of someone somewhere else in the entire universe having equivalent intelligence.

You're talking about a low probability event vs a near infinite set of chances.

I believe that Art Bell had a regular guest, Richard C. Hoagland , that claimed that NASA was going to slowly leak "Discoveries" about water in Mars, and life forms. Iirc correctly this was on a show ca.1997-2000 ?

NASA was apparently covering up secret files but would be forced to leak the info slowly so that a panic scare would not take place with religious groups.

Btw I quit listening to Art Bell around 2001.

I don't understand the whole panic with religious groups. Where in the bible does it say that there are not other worlds, lifeforms, etc? If God can do anything, can't God create more than one world?

i don't think it does say that anywhere, but finding other life, much less intelligent life crushes the narrative that we are unique and special. If we find it just in the minuscule cosmic neighborhood that we can analyze, then it has to be assumed that it is everywhere in the universe, which means we are buy one civilization out of millions, perhaps billions.

Not to mention that there are potentially millions or billions of other civilizations out there and we are just too stupid to find any of them.

But we are unique and special and they are unique and special. I just don't see how it creates a conflict.

Bad article. The guy they are referring to in the article said that NASA is on the verge of discovering intelligent life.

...And, more importantly, removes at least some power from the shysters in charge of every major branch of organized religion.
