Annoying things your family does

My mom won’t let me go outside after 6:00 am because she says it’s too hot due to climate change. She’s overbearing but honestly I don’t care. Everything I love to do is inside. What’s annoying is she wakes me up at 5:00 every morning and expects me to hop out of bed and play outside, no cap. I usually don’t even fall asleep until 2:00. What the frick am I supposed to do outside anyway?

My mom perpetually tried to gossip to me and my wife about my cousins....no social cues in the world can get hey to understand how little I fricking care.
Also, calling on my birthday. I hate speaking on the phone so that's not a treat...more a chore I have to schedule on a bday....but I know damn well imma miss that one one day...so I tolerate it

I don't have a wife, but I do have a mom and sister who somehow think I'm interested in what my white-trash cousins are up to. And nothing I say can make them believe I really don't give a shite. So I feel your pain.

Brother...we are same. She has a side of the family she likes to talk shite about for hours....it's just not interesting. And usually me and my step dad are trying to drink and watch a game...so my poor wife takes the brunt of it

Same. I have a large family and when my two sisters get started they will kill my phone battery in minutes. But when I ask a legitimate question shite falls on deaf ears. Group texting is the devil.

Even as adults, in the build up to Christmas and on Christmas day, my sister still tries to figure out what everyone is getting everyone and does a mental and sometimes written checklist keeping track on whether equal amounts of money were spent on gifts for each person.

That sounds miserable. My parents are still over protective. I think it is anxiety. Like we go to the lake for the day and I get a long lecture on why life jackets are important. I have to remind them I am 40. My mom also calls and reports every new case of Covid is the small town I grew up in.
