People who pronounce
- forward “foe-ward”
- words that end in -ing with an “een” sound (text-een, driv-een, admir-een, etc)

I find many of these people come from the Bay Area (CA). Is this some kind of Northern CA version of the Valley Girl accent?

ETA: frick your downvotes. I got it off my chest and feel better.

People from Lafayette say axe for ask and am-bue-lance for ambulance. That is how "the uneducated" say those things were I'm from.

Two I find funny are my grandpa says rurn (ruin) and earl (oil)

Might be. I'm originally from there and:
quote:

- words that end in -ing with an “een” sound (text-een, driv-een, admir-een, etc)

sounds normal to me.

Salmon should be pronounced as in Salmon Rushdie.

Otherwise, leave the fricking “L” out of the spelling.

Bout ready to meet you at the Sonic in Chicargo.

Are you asking why I have an accent?

Why do a lot of people in the south ignore the difference in pin and pen? Because you grew up around others who pronounce them that way.
