It would be great if this were true.

Holy shite that’s the same guy?! I remember being pissed at that video a long time ago

Edit, comments say it’s a different guy

It is def a different guy. He was captain with two conchs also out of Florida and fired soon after video went public.

Id say the fact that he’s a habitual offender who committed a felony against a minor on camera is the biggest factor in the criminal proceedings, but yeah the judge getting to crow about locking him up is the cherry on top for sure.

I was more talking about the way the prosecutor(s) will approach the case, i.e. the decisions as to how to use prosecutorial discretion. In other words, when a case comes to the attention of the public, especially when it’s well beyond just locally, it typically means a harsher stance/approach.

Yea, I did not get that either
The Florida statute I saw posted earlier defined the burglary charge as unauthorized or forcible entry into a building, vehicle, or conveyance.

So I’m guessing that the victim’s boat falls under the definition of a conveyance

Has been already posted here and plenty of other places on social media.

That’s not the same guy. That was a different charter guide down in the FL Keys. That video went viral when it happened a year or 2 ago and the captain got fired

I wonder what the burglary charge is. They don’t mention anything about it in the article.

Burglary is just unlawful entry with the intent to commit a crime. Often paired with theft but doesn’t have to be.

Usually burglary is an unauthorized entry onto or into the property of another, with the intent to commit a criminal offense therein (or thereon, as the case may be).

I will say the kid could have probably handled it better. Just give a thumbs up and don't give him the satisfaction of getting in an argument

Just giving the captain a thumbs up would have likely set him off anyway. Something, something disrespect.

He was definitely looking for it. He assessed the situation and got angrier/escalated when he could tell the kid was apologizing to him rather than getting ready to fight imo

Inshore guides are usually chasing the same fish that rec fishermen are. They have a sense of entitlement since that’s their job. They are the most priickelly.

I prefer offshore, natural bottom fishing, but you need enough boat to do that.

I remember that video also. Seems like there are quite a few dick head charter captains floating around though

As much as I enjoy fishing I think being a charter captain would be a miserable job. I'm sure they get enough customers that rub them the wrong way that the ones that are already naturally hot headed end up going off

sport fishing charter captains are usually pretty laid back, a lot of the time you're interacting with the mate and hardly see the captain

This is a great case for allowing minors to possess handguns. Should definitely at least have the opportunity to canoe a piece of shite who for all we know was going to rape the poor boy. Allegedly

out on the water that's worth consideration, when I lived in Florida we made a lot of trips to the Bahamas, armed to the teeth, one of the scenarios where you may be in the right but dead is dead, rather be judged by 12 than buried by six
