I agree, the narrative was allowed to get off the rails early and it's gone too far to pull it back. It was a dangerous precedent to set, and the scary thing is it has been set and will likely be followed in the years to come.

Do yourself a favor an avoid all news stations. And I do mean ALL news stations. They all just have their agendas, much like all the politicians do.

CBS Evening News with Norah somebody opened last night with hospitals being overrun and out of ventilators in FL, TX, and GA. WTF? These people should be charged with yelling fire in a movie theater.

The “hammer and dance” model we were using to justify the had the right idea. A quick strike of the hammer (shut down) to allow enough tine to build PPE stock, develop a somewhat valid treatment protocol, catch up on testing, and identify hot spots.
And good job USA! We did just that. Now, we dance, and that means we do just enough to keep hospitals from overflowing, nothing more.
Problem is that this indeed means that more people will die - and politicians haven’t found the right way to deliver that message yet.
The Republicans are coming closest at the moment, however many are bordering on using conspiracy theories in the argument and invalidating themselves at the gate. The Democratic platform doesn’t have an avenue for “acceptable death” so even the ones who are probably more worried about the budget than nana dying (I would put JBE in this club), can’t voice it. The SJW clan of the party (Latoya and friends) are just hopeless.
