Your failing to plan was a plan to fail.
You got the cheapest seats and want to bitch about the restrictions on them.
Dur-dee-durr-durr.

American is arguably the worst of the legacy domestic carriers.
But since I fly every week, I would probably switch to American if I lived in Baton Rouge.

I fly 50k miles a year with AA. Never have any major issues. You probanly couldn’t change your seats because you boat the cheap seats.

I stuff my happy little arse on SouthWest flights. Cheap and sit wherever I want.

During the spring and summer flying through Midwest I am happy to just get to the destination without major delays.

the flight is delayed because we waiting on a flight attendant who is late
Coming from another flight likely. Delays happen.

Why didnt you do it online?
Most airlines have done to shite fwiw
When I flew with them a few months back, you couldn't do a lot of stuff online that you can with United or Delta. Not only was that a joke, but the flight out of BR was delayed because the plane was held up in the maintenance yard.

You didn't pay the extra $50 for economy plus?
The price they give you online is the Spirit like price. You have to pay more to get regular economy class.
Not the airlines fault. It's yours

So you didn’t select your seats beforehand and want to complain? Sounds like basic economy.

There’s only two people on that plane who have to sit by each other and they’re up front.

People can thank Southwest for the shittiness of other airlines now. They’ve cut costs to compete with southwest.

I’m not going to say Southwest is so awesome, but they truly are way ahead of American. American Airlines is one of the worst companies out there, they truly do not care about their customers at all. I’ve flown American for work for the last 7 years and finally had enough, since then I’ve used southwest at ever opportunity and while it hasn’t been perfect I feel like they actually give a shite about my business

Honest question.
I'm going to LA Christmas day (kids surprise trip to Disneyland) looking at Delta and American. Both have tickets around the same price. To do regular economy adds $50 (we think it's worth it to sit together and pick seats)
Each is around $1100 for four people.
Given the same prices, is there an advantage to one airline over the other. Ironically Spirit and Southwest are $200 more per ticket.

Not really. I’m only loyal to American because they are HQd here meaning they have the most non stop destinations for the lowest prices. If I was in Atlanta, I’d probably fly delta like I fly American here.

Is that DL flight non-stop MSY-LAX?

I like airlines for dumb reasons.
I like United because of the Mediterranean snack box, I like spirit because of the big front seats. Though when flying alone I usually take Southwest.
I haven't flown Delta since I was a kid in the 80's.
I flew American Airlines one way to Newark a few years back.
So I have little experience with either.

Frequent flyer with American. My main complaint is the professional quality of the gate agents and other customer facing staff. These people operate like they should be working at the dmv or Popeyes.
Airlines shouldn’t be a jobs program. We already have the TSA for that. They need to train these people how to be professional, not conduct personal conversations with each other in front of customers. Etc.
Just everyday basic shite really.
