Don’t mind the alerts in general. The 4AM hurricane warning a few months back was a little ridiculous IMHO. My only problem is that I carry 4 connected devices, so a single alert echos for a while—PITA when trying to get some sleep.

I was telling a group of moms how strangers don’t really take kids a few weeks ago and they thought I was crazy. It was even worse when we got into “sex trafficking”

It’s interesting, DOJ stats show that relatives are more likely to commit violent crime than strangers. It seems in most cases of child abductions it’s a parent taking from the other, and probably those aren’t as likely to result in violence. Except that it’s estimated that each year as many as 20% of kids in America suffer some level of physical abuse at home. I’m guessing that number is higher in the cases of kids who are taken.
