I have had 3 different packages get marked “delivered” and show up within 36 hours AFTER delivery (and weren’t on neighbors door).

One of which I was allowed to get credit for after 25 hours.

All three were USPS. All three appeared to be contractors.

Is this some scam they are doing to bump their numbers? It’s annoying.

Yup.... Been happening to me. Showed delivered and the USPS shows up the next day and delivers it. I wish I could pay more NOT to us USPS.

After a little over a day they will allow you to report not received and credit (if they don’t have POD). Sometimes it arrives later anyway and Amazon doesn’t do anything.

Thanks. I figured it was some side huddle scam by Amazon contractors.

I order a lot on Amazon for work. When I see usps I assume we're not going to receive it. They mark it "left in parcel locker" of which we don't have. If something is important I have it delivered to the gnc down the street and walk down and pick it up.

Happens to me in the Houston area. I can't decide if the contractors are marking it delivered because they have to meet some metric and get to it the next day when they can, or if there is some sort of scan where they take it and open it up to see if there is something worth keeping in there and then reseal it somehow.

I do know that the North Houston USPS facility is (or recently was) under federal investigation for the high number of "missing" packages. It's a running joke in our neighborhood at this point that stuff just disappears, shows up a day or two late after being marked delivered, or shows up at the wrong address.

I also wish we could elect to ship with anybody but USPS but many online vendors don't give you a choice.

I believe when the package gets "delivered" to USPS its marked delivered from the source (Amazon, UPS, etc). Then we have to wait for the delinquent mail carriers to make their way over to the final destination. I was woken up after 10pm Sunday night because a stand in mail carrier was going bananas on his phone while throwing packages to my and my neighbors houses. I think they get an influx of deliveries and hire extras to deliver them and most are goofballs.

Some Amazon deliveries will make the final delivery leg via USPS.

It's happened a few times for me.

A lot of Amazon packages get delivered to USPS for the final leg of the delivery.

I noticed it a few times I had deliveries. It would show delivered but then wouldn’t get it until the following day. I called and asked about it. They said that a lot of the times the packages get deliveries to the post office after the mail couriers have already sorted the mail and left to start their deliveries.

The USPS is a complete shite show. I get all kinds of stuff delivered to me for other people. My mail carrier it too lazy to even close my mailbox all the way most days. That's how I know I have some mail, the damn mailbox door is wide open.. useless

A postal worker was delivering a package to my front door the other day. She was on the phone in an outside voice cursing to one of her girlfriends talking about a man/baby daddy. Trash.

I know everyone hates USPS but I'd generally prefer first class mail (and 100% of the time priority mail) over UPS ground right now

Getting something from outside the region is taking like 8 days and I live close to hubs.

We've had multiple packages never delivered or lost from USPS. Complete garbage.

Soddy Daisy, TN has a fairly large facility for a city sub-station.

Packages are sitting outside for days and arriving soggy and in bad shape.

In 2019 the postmaster there ran over a cop while drunk. He is dead and she is doing 11 years for driving drunk and killing him.

The new postmaster (can you say diversity) is not quite up to the job like the lady that liked to drink and drive.

Soggy packages for Soddy

Our USPS lady is now too lazy to bring the boxes to the door and just drops them in the driveway. This is away from any camera so can’t catch any porch pirates or verify it was delivered.

Ordered a small safe as a Christmas gift through Amazon. They attempted to deliver during the middle of the day while I was at work so, instead of a safe I get a sticky note saying they'll attempt to deliver again. Shyte man, the safe's empty, it's not full of gold bars. Just leave it at the door.

You can, actually.

Order a single lithium watch battery for a buck or two and it will become hazardous and be sent UPS rather than USPS.

I ordered 4 things the other day. I was given the option to delay delivery by a day to avoid 2 trips. You know, the feel good save the plant crap. I agreed, now everything is being delivered on 3 separate days. Incredible.
