Only thing I want this time around is the fire stick
Most deals are just a few bucks off although you can find legit deals
I prefer using Amazon warehouse like new bargains

I'm thinking I would use that more if I'm pretty damn comfortable on the couch or in the bed and I don't want to get up, I could tell Alexa to turn on/off/dim the lights.
I use it every night. It is much easier to say "Alexa, turn on bed time" and have all of my lights turn off then actually walk around. I can also adjust my thermostat, turn on my tv, adjust the receiver to play music in different rooms, etc. all from the comfort of sitting on my arse.
ETA: and being able to tell my fan to turn on/off at night is pretty awesome

How much modification did you do to make everything wifi? I live in an apartment and would like to hook up my lights without having to hardwire anything. Do I just buy the expensive bulbs? I already have a Nest thermostat so that is taken care of.

The switches are better than the bulbs, but the bulbs will work fine. I have the wink hub controlling everything, and then just over time added new components. Started with just 2 of the GE link bulbs, but now have 5 switches, the harmony hub, and garage door control, and Alexa talks to all of them for me.
