I cancelled prime last year and I had it since they first offered. I don’t miss it one bit. I still get free shipping on orders over $35. If it’s under $35 put it in the cart and combine when you get to $35. Thursday night football was pretty good but really I can do without. The streaming was shite.

I’m not even sure what I pay for Prime but I know I needed some diamond cup blades for my grinder yesterday and didn’t want to run to hommie depot.
Ordered around 9am and they were on my doorstep at 6pm

It's worth the convenience of having bulky things delivered.

Interesting. And I did not know that.
I probably pay for too many streaming services that overlap with AP.
I need to look into all that I’m paying for and probably eliminate some of it.

Are you married? If so it's going to cost significantly more money than the price of Prime and you'll end up with tons of crap you don't need at your door most days.

The free shipping
Just wait until you need $35 worth of stuff and it is free shipping anyway.

Yes it is worth it, one of the few things around that is.
It is more than shipping when you factor in TV streaming and music.
Amazon music is my go to for music when working out and driving, plenty of options and ad free.
Prime streaming has enough good shows and movies through the year to also justify the cost. Over the past year I have watched more on Prime than Netflix.
Finally the shipping. Taking out music and streaming, you can look at it as paying $15/month from unlimited shipping. Whether it is worth it can be subjective, however living in DFW it is amazing. Several options come with same day or next day delivery. 90% of everything else is two day. It is hard to put a price tag on not having to go to the store in the hopes they have what you are looking for. Several times it is the little things as well that may be hard to find or you have to order anyway. Recently I had to replace a piece on my mower, instead of hunting down a Lowe's that may have it (none did) and ordering from company. I searched it on Amazon, and there it was. Delivered in 3 days for free. Just had to also replace door rubber seal on LG front load washer. Looked on Amazon and had it delivered in 2 days no shippingfee. That is a part you cannot go into a store and purchase.
Short version - It is one of the few subscriptions that is worth it.

My household has an addiction to Amazon, if at least one package isn't delivered every day they start having withdrawals.
My wife and kids went to Jersey last month with my FiL to visit family. I got Amazon packages delivered 4 of the 6 days they were gone. They weren’t my packages.
I swear I’m going to put a counter on the wall rallying how much my wife has spent at Amazon during the year. Maybe she’ll get a clue.

Access to Amazon Pharmacy is valuable. I have paid for prescriptions cheaper without using insurance than I could have using insurance.

They actually have good streaming options, too

You just HAVE to remember to click that prime button after searches. If not you'll pay shipping

My wife has it, Amazon driver is here as often as the Post Office.
Prime will give you a free 1month trial once a year. I subscribe with my personal account every Christmas season, then cancel it.

If you order a few things a month on Amazon, it's definitely worth it. Their streaming service isn't the best, but it's got some good things to watch every so often, so it's a nice bonus.

Shipping has gotten progressively worse.
This is absolutely true. It takes a week or longer without Prime.
My bigger issue than that is the sheer amount of cheap Chinese crap on there and them manipulating what shows up when you're looking for something.
And fake reviews as well.

Not to mention some of those items are not of the same quality as OEM parts or they are knock offs. So there is that to be weary of if you need a part for a washing machine or appliance.
But I will give them this, Amazon will usually have the most random parts available and will ship it out to you, in a few days depending on your location, unlike some suppliers that may take a week or 2.
One thing that I do look at some times is the "free shipping", sometimes the free shipping is baked into the cost of the item.

For some of us, it's a function of the answers to these questions:
How far do you live from a major city?
What is your time worth driving to and from shopping areas?
How well stocked are the local stores?
What is the cost of driving, not just mileage but wear and tear on your vehicle and on you?
When I first joined Prime, the cost would have offset four to six trips to 'town'. That was to offset the cost of gas, none of the rest.
That evolved to finding that after we'd call businesses to see if they had something specific, and they said 'yes' when they didn't have it, so the trips were wasted time and money for us, and Amazon did have it and would deliver it to us....
Amazon has made our lives easier.

I know I save the Prime membership fee in free shipping. Plus I now live in an area that has same day delivery on a lot of items.
I just ordered 2-3 items I need and they’ll be here before end of day. It saves me a trip out.
Worth it to me.
