no, sounds like a possible bad contact spot in the timer.
You get all these pins like this and over time you get carbon build-ups and all and when you stop it, and start it again, at that particular point, you may have bad contact.

i hear you. i probably ignored ebay for the last 5 years using amazon all the time instead.
then i started with a few little things here and there..and pretty soon i realized if i put in a little more work ebay almost ALWAYS is cheaper for me on stuff.
yesterday i bought 6 things that i originally priced on amazon..then found all 6 cheaper on ebay
ebay
- worx pole saw
- acer replacement chromebook screen ($15 cheaper on ebay..amazon wanted $46 after taxes and ebay i paid $30)
- chromebook case (to protect it from my teenage daughters's backpack)
- intex purespa filter 2-pack
- hayward pool skimmer basket
i saved $60 over amazon total going to ebay. hard to argue with that amount of savings.

Cad is either a liar or ordering weird shite. Before I started filtering for prime only, I'd say 3/10 non-prime purchases came in 3 days or less, 6 in 4 days, and 1 in 5 days.
I ordered something for Christmas and didn't realize they changed the default to free five day. It came in 3 days, a day late for when I needed it. They explained to me that I had selected free five day (which I confirmed). Then they refunded me without me asking, and I kept the $1 credit they were offering for not using 2 day.

once i have my amazon basket assembled i check ebay to see what i can get for less and 99% of the time..everything in my basket ends up in my ebay cart.

eta i mainly shop amazon first because of 'marketplace' where sometimes the deals ARE cheaper than ebay. only problem is those are the luck of the draw.
in the case of the pole saw, amazon warehouse had a damaged package for $80 plus tax. ebay had the worx store with a manuf refurb for $60 no shipping.
no brainer to save $28 on that one purchase and still have the backing of worx because i bought from them.

The only time this becomes a problem is when the GF needs something stupid and obscure, like Christmas stocking hooks. Everything any reasonable person wants is Prime-eligible

Most of the stuff I order is prime. But sometimes an item I really want may not be offered prime and I'm still getting a great discount that it's worth paying for shipping.

Yeah, but Paypal blows, and one click ship is just so nice. I'm an impulsive shopper so when on Amazon I either click one click, or save it to my list to buy later. I think I average five packages a week from Amazon, but a lot of that is parts. A lot of parts stores sell their stuff cheap on Ebay and Amazon, but I like knowing I can get something in a day.
One example, the Old El Paso restaurant needed a new Fryer control. My supplier was saying 3-5 days with $75 for next day shipping, I checked amazon and low and behold the fryer controller was on there, for $35 less than my wholesale supplier with next day shipping for $7.99. I jumped on it, and people got their tex mex fix, all thanks to Amazon.

Seems like you are just wasting time then. 99% of the time is enough to make me stop using Amazon, for me eBay is not always the best option though. Especially since their fraud trends to be higher.
I usually go between the two, or use Google Shopping to point me to the cheapest option.
However most of my household stuff is on subscription, so it can't really be beat.
