Melissa is off 75 north of McKinney. We were looking at new construction 4-5 bedroom homes for like $250-300k.

What is this...code for Fairfax? On what land is something like this going to be built.
Northern Virginia is made up of several counties and cities and there is plenty of land to build what they want and plenty of existing office space too

Washington, D.C Again. What land.
DC also has a lot of office space and undeveloped/industrial land to accommodate Amazon

companies do. You want to cut corporate taxes, fine.

Do not sleep on Columbus, Ohio. Columbus is the fastest growing city in the Midwest and has become a major logistics and distribution hub for many companies...including Amazon!! Columbus has something going for it that most cities on this list do not. Columbus is a 9 hour drive from 75 percent of the US population and including major cities in Canada. This is one of the biggest reasons why Columbus, Ohio's population is booming. Don't sleep on Columbus

yea one of the reasons it's going to be harder and harder for us to relocate to DFW is that my job would be in downtown Dallas

Dallas would seem like a no-brainer if they actually go by the criteria they put forth....but I doubt thats the really driving the decision.

I agree with this

Major metro population with major international air Hub, business and employee friendly tax climate, better cost of living for employees compared to northeast, land for whatever HQ facility they wanted to build...

but yeah, Boston and DC area check off some "cultural" boxes and are further away from Seattle

DFW, Atlanta, Boston, DC area are the only real players in this IMO despite the list of 20

20 finalists? Are they a 5-star DT?

How are they trending on 247 crystal ball picks?

when they set their official visits we'll get a clearer picture of who's really in contention

Exactly. The state didn't want to exclude any of the counties (Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, Alexandria, Prince William) so they made a joint (Nothern Va bid). But basically it's either Tysons or Dulles Corridor.

They offered them a huge strip on the Anacostia near RFK.

the park land?

I know they've been talking about what to do with RFK since it looks like the feds are going to let the city take it

Amazon has 18 data centers in NOVA and are building more. That's probably why three locations in the area (NOVA, Montgomery County and DC) are on the ist.

Last I saw Vegas had Atlanta as the favorite
The city and state governments are bending over backwards to get it here. To be quite honest, I am not sure that the state government - currently Republican controlled - really wants to bring in 50,000 tech jobs that will most likely be filled by much more Democratic leaning employees and families.

If Atlanta gets the HQ, I could see the state flipping from red to blue (it is already pretty purple due to the metro Atlanta area as is).
