They increase the humidity in the air. If you were expecting them to make a sammich or suck your dick I can understand the disappointment.

In Louisiana I can't imagine why one would want to generate more of something that helps Louisiana be miserable.

I prefer natural humidity to artificial humidity. That’s why I live on the gulf coast.

The beastly dehumidifiers are the shite. They can suck serious moisture out of the air that collects in the basin.

Sleep is so much better.

Because cool humid air is easier to breathe than hot as hell humid air

Although either humidity is better than dry - especially for asthma (in my case anyway)

Depending on your how high you run your heat and how insulated your house is, it can get very dry indoors even in Louisiana.
Humidifier at night makes difference.

I live in the swamp and have no need for a humidifier.

But a de-humidifier...is the shite.

Houseplants love that water, btw.

They work in small spaces. We use one in our bedroom in the winter.

My kid had RSV when she was really young (2 or 3) and we used one as per Dr Ricks. Our house stays cold anyway so it wasn't that bad.

They are great in the winter when the heat dries me out at night.
