Almost every person I've ever met in 'drama' are like this, t'was like that back to high school days.
They don't 'compete' per se so they do all kinds of weird things to gain popularity and parts/ roles and then to win over crowds by performing well.
Where as you take someone that's an athlete and they get their satisfaction from winning something more tangible.
Then you throw in a bunch of people that do it who have horrible self esteem and multiple other socia disorders. It's always been and will always be a recipe for disaster.

The rape scene was in the script and the woman wasn't actually raped. Using butter in the scene was not part of the script and they never told her they were going to use butter to simulate lubricant. She specifically said in the interview that it wasn't real but she felt raped anyway.
