Am I racist ?...

Watching local news this evening. The broadcast is always professional (slight liberal bias) but news and weather crew are always well spoken. Anyhow, in the middle of a story the reporter in the field drops an "AX" instead of using the word "ASK". She is African American, well educated, and every other word out of her mouth sounds like the King's English. It just sounded ridiculous. I am in fact not a racist but am annoyed at the acceptance of slang vernacular in a news cast. ....I know I sound old..I'll stay off your lawn...and I'll even light up (Frances)

It really is befuddling how black people cannot say the word ask. Even the wildly educated ones. My wife has a doctorate and works with other doctoral graduates as well. A few of them are black none of them, I mean none of them, can pronounce this word.
It reminds me of the way in WW2 potential German spies were made to pronounce the word watermelon because they could not successfully say the letter w.
