When I say don't be nice I'm not saying be a dick about it but don't apologetically point out what you don't like and laugh it off as being picky. Point blank tell him what's wrong.

It is all wrong and will eat at you every day if you do not have them fix it to your liking.

If they are unable to fix it, have them take it out and get one installed by someone who can do it right.

Make them fix it.

I had a custom deck and fencing built a few years ago. Builder did a fine job other than 1 defect that I let slide.

That defect (gate frame is out of square) is the first thing that catches my eye every time I'm out there.

Why is the middle facing the opposite direction of the rest of the fence?

This confuses me as well. Is this a design choice to have the sections alternate?

Is the fence going to be sandwiched so both neighbors get pretty front fence?

There seems to be bigger issues than craftsmanship.

It looks bad. Tell him to do it right or gtfo. Hope you haven't paid him yet.

It's one of those "alternating" fences where each panel switches from inside to outside.

That's how our HOA says it needs to be done... it's so nobody has all inside fencing or all outside fencing.

Mind if I ask who's putting up your fence? I'm looking to get one put up myself. Any recommendations on company wise and price wise?

Your HOA is fricking stupid. That looks bad.

Thats what I don't get. Why not have it flipped so the ugly side faces neighbors

I prefer the nice side looking out. I want the fence to keep people out as well as for privacy. I don't want to make it easy for someone to climb.

I'd just pay to have my side covered all the way. That would fix most of these issues. His neighbor will always be pissed at this abomination.

I've built fences for the old man at my parents house 3 times in my life. the first time i wasn't even in high school yet and those fences looked cleaner than what your probably paying some pretty serious coin for.

I don't know... I guess I'm used to it since all the fences around here are done that way and the old fence was done like that as well.

Fences on the corners are done with the "pretty" side facing the street so it looks good from the street. But other than that, everyone has this alternating fencing.

And it's not just my neighborhood, but a lot of neighborhoods around here.

judging from the OPs pictures, I doubt whoever built his fence has the capability to put something like that together
