Met through an acquaintance? I would have asked there first... casually.
“Researching” someone’s past though court records can never end well, no matter what the result. Even if the court documents showed he filed for divorce on the grounds of “She looked too good naked and spent too much time wanting me to plow her, while I was too busy playing video games” , the second you confront her with information that you snooped through her past via court house, she’s never going to trust you and the relationship goes to crap anyway. If she does trust you after that, she’s a lunatic!
If you had the inclination to go to the court house, you already didn’t trust her - either cut bait then, or keep your emotional distance until you feel more comfortable with her.

What see did to the last guy doesnt mean she was going to do it to you. Sure you would have known to watch her closer and make sure she's not lying. But could have keep it going until maybe she did or did not do anything to you.

Not long ago I had someone I dated lie about her oldest kid's father when she made a huge deal how all her kids had the same dad. Turns out it wasn't true. There was no reason for her to lie about that. If she's willing to not be honest about something like that, how could I trust her to be honest about anything else?

You absolutely did the wrong thing. Not in finding out about her past, but opening your big, fat mouth after you got home. You had already established that she was not long-term material. Your choice was to run her off, or to use her as a filthy whore, fulfilling all of your wildest dreams.
