Because there's nothing that shows he wasn't, either. Couple that with the fact that he was actually carrying a weapon and had resisted arrest? You have a somewhat reasonable assumption.
add in that you have officers announcing theres a gun.... even if you cant see his hands. knowing he had one, and hearing cops say they think hes going for it makes it easier to assume theres probably a fair shot that if nothing else they believed he was going for it.

The same reason people went with the narrative that Mike Brown had his hands up. Witnesses say so. Stay tuned to find out if it turns out to be true or not.
There is no witness that said he went for his gun. The witness stated the cops pulled a gun from inside of his pocket after he was killed But you are correct. We will find out if and when the store security camera footage is released

The gun being in or out of his pocket is a non issue.

who had a better view of his hands/gun?
the cop sitting right on top of him?
or someone 30 feet away?

That's not how it works in court.

The location of the gun is a non-issue here.

Im not arguing a point. You wanted to know how people are still going to "continue to run with this narrative". I answered your question. Show me definitive proof that he didnt and people will stop "running with a narrative".

I really don't think he understands that the cops don't have to prove he was going for a gun, only that they BELIEVED he was going for a gun and were justified in thinking so.

can somebody fill me in?
After watching the video and reading about this for 15 minutes or so, I have learned that:
(1)this guy was a felon
(2)who was carrying a firearm and
(3)was resisting arrest and
(4) the officers attempted to subdue him without lethal force and without even drawing their weapons
(5) and then one cop yells he has a gun
(6) and then the other cop draws and tells him not to move or he'll shoot
(7) and then the perp does or does not grab or reach for his gun
(8) and then the cop who didn't draw his weapon originally, who only drew the weapon after he heard the perp has a gun, who warned the perp not to move or he would shoot, fires two shots,
(9) and this is automatically racist murder
does that about sum it up?

Also, I'd love to know if BRPD is going all hands tonight.
Well for what it's worth, the neighbor usually always works the night shift, and he is being asked to work extra day shifts right now.

I can't wait to be at that sign making meeting.
The signs I saw people holding on CNN you could barely read what they said. People holding signs didn't seem to care, seemed to be more interested in getting on TV.
